You cant get ranked beating highly ranked P4P guys from other divisions? Yet Canelo reached #2 at 154 by beating a bunch of WWs and JWWs

So rankings dont really mean ****, even more worthless than belts

it's been a yr and a half since Pac beat Bradley
other than piss drinker beating him, who has a better win at WW?
in that time frame there's been no big shakeups
Maidana beating Broner was good, but Broner was a 1 fight WW
Bradley didn't prove anything beating old piss drinker

I agree about canelo, he beat unranked Hatton for the belt, but he did beat trout who beat cotto who was highly ranked only lost a Dec to Mayweather prior


Canelo will be facing Angelo next who is lower top ten, his comp is getting stiffer

This isn't about canelo, stay on topic, do you think beating guys from lower weight classes earn you a spot in another? IM sure you don't....face the facts Pacquiao has not officially beat a top welterweight in 5 years....he should beat a top ten guy or be lowered....it happens to everyone else.

Pac has lost 1 fight in 9 years against a fighter he beat 3 times ( maybe 2 to others). IMO he should be no 2 ranked after floyd, let alone top 5.

It's true, Manny is merely ranked high due to his overall career and past achievements, which is BS. Might as well still include James Toney, Holyfield, and Roy Jones in our P4P lists as well.

Also, Manny has been fighting guys at welter who had to move up to in weight the past years; Bradley, Marquez, and Rios. He hasn't had a good win since Miguel Cotto in 2009.

He's ranked top 5 at welter....def not P4P. As for the OP it's because he's Manny, yeah he hasn't beaten anyone worth mentioning and is 1-2 in his last 3...but what can you do about it, the rankings systems are BS.

Rankings are meant to show who has beaten the higher ranked fighters lately...who has legitimized themselves the most against other contenders, we are not talking p4p....all Bradley, Pacquiao and Marquez has done has fight each other....whereas Mayweather, maidana, porter, malignaggi are fighting ranked guys who beat ranked guys

If you are going to dare fight p4p fighters like Pac does, JMM, Bradley and JMM again, if you lose you shouldn't drop much.
But Pac beat Bradley, whereas JMM couldn't, so really Pac should be above JMM in the rankings. JMM is pacs sstyle nightmare, but Pac still beat him 3 times.

How many people could outclass Rios like that? How many people could make Rios look that bad? You will reply by saying many could, but nobody has done, it took Pac to make Rios look like a punch bag. Pac has a habit of doing that.

He beat Bradley, arguably top 3-4 P4P in all of boxing. Lost to Marquez, top 5 P4P..besides Rios, who has he fought that wasn't a top ranked guy in his weight class? Would wins over Ortiz and Guerrero have made you happy? They beat nobody but Berto at welterweight and he was a raided up over hyped punching bag.

I disagree with JMM but yes Bradley is far better. JMM isn't a good welter...period. Who has he beaten to prove that? Pac someone he fought 3 times and had experience with. I'd pick Maidana (sadly), Thurman, Floyd, Pac, Bradley all over him if they were to fight in some cases ... again. Maybe even Garcia moving up and Lucas moving up.
