Mayweather and Pac have different styles. Of course Pac relies more on his power which leads to more stoppages whereas Mayweather relies more on his skill which leads to more decision victories. However, let's be fair here. Mayweather fought Oscar at 154 while Pac fought a skeleton that needed an IV before the fight. Mayweather did not go life or death with Hatton. He dominated him and stopped him when he was still undefeated. Mayweather maybe lost 1 or 2 rounds to Mosley. Mayweather maybe lost 3 rounds to 154 Cotto while Pac didn't even fight Cotto at the 147 weight limit. He fought him at a catchweight of 145 lbs I believe. It's very arguable that Mayweather fought better versions of all of these fighters, not to mention I'm pretty sure that all of these fighters chose Mayweather to win in a head to head match with Pac.

Clottey and Margarito will beat Ortiz and Guerrero easily while Pac as shown before will not making a sweat giving these two the worst beating of their life. Pac last 3 fights showed he is still a top p4p fighter.

I'm not sure Earmuffs Clottey or non-plaster wrap Margarito beats either of these guys. Maybe Ortiz because of his lack of heart. And you conveniently leave out Canelo who probably smashes both of those guys.

He beat Bradley easily even with half ass effort and was looking really good against Marquez until he delivered his face first to Marquez "Memo" powered punch.
Bradley fight...I think Pac won, but wasn't a landslide like people tend to state in my opinion.

People were banking on that ko and assumed Pac was damaged good (cracked chin) but his recent fight against Rios proved he is still a force to reckon.
I don't think Pac is washed...but you really believe the Rios fight proved he is back? C'mon man! Rios???

Floyd since he faked his retirement from 2007 to duck prime younger Cotto, Mosley and Margarito he fought 6 times only comparing to Pacquiao who fought 14 times since 2007. Take note 3 of Floyd's opponents already beat by Pacquiao not to mention the other one was weight cheated by Floyd, one was sucker punched and the other one was weight drained even thought Floyd is a 2 times champ at 154. So based on these undeniable facts how come you didn't question Floyd ranking?
You bring up weight cheating though Pac is the kind of catchweights. And you bring up Canelo being weight drained, but that's an excuse that even Canelo doesn't bring up. I've never heard him say that weight was a problem, whereas Cotto for example refused a rematch with pac because Pac wanted another catchweight.

This thread isn't about Pac vs. Mayweather so sorry to even reply to this, but c'mon. If you're gonna call the guy a floydiot or whatever, I just think you shouldn't come across as so blindly on the opposite end of that spectrum.

So basically Floyd in 6 years only fought 4 times at welterweight but then how come the floydiots didn't question his WW ranking?
How can you question his ranking if he is the champion? That doesn't make sense.

Lets not forget Mannys quality wins over Clottey and Margarita. Seriously, Manny will stay on the P4P list until he retires, even after losses. HBO/TR did a fine job with him.

I repeat this thread has nothing to do with Mayweather, nor pound for pound ranking

          Read the title

Furthermore IM a flom0 because I bring up Pacquiao? I didn't say anything to degrade Pacquiao or his accomplishments

Those wins you PAC maniacs are bringing up didn't even happen this decade. Rankings are based off recent accomplishments.

As far as Mayweather this is the only time I will speak of him in thus thread he is the champion. when he retired he retired as champion the lineal champion, came back and tuned up with Marquez and beat the number one guy at welter Mosley.I know some of you don't like it but he EARNED it. He did it this first time at ww and this time around. Face it....manny is not a top 5 welterweight and Mayweather has nothing to do with that

Ranking wise you may be right. Ranking doesnt mean he LOSES to some of the guys above him but he probably shouldnt be a top ranked WW. It's a weird situation because he probably isnt hugely favored to beat some of these guys either and some might be "toss ups". Anyway I don't have a huge issue with it.

I can't believe Straightleft thinks clottey beats Ortiz or Guerrero. :/... Then again I see that name as "Manny's favorite punch" so no surprise there. Lol no offense

              Marquez put him to sleep

Bradley won a controversial fight, manny should have won but officially lost

Mosley hadn't won a fight in years by the time manny beat him

Got a gift against Marquez where most thought he lost...me included, Marquez at that point had the most definitive fight win taken from him.

If it was another fighter he would be lower top ten or unrated
He hasn't had a legit win over a top 5 guy in years, since last decade
His only real loss was to JMM Ina lucky one punch ko that knocked him to sleep in a fight he was winning. Other than the robbery loss he has been ***ing dudes up for over a decade. Maybe that's why he got fighter of the decade. Maybe that's why he's still a p4p champ. So dumb lol

Clotty went blow for blow with an almost prime Miguel Cotto..you guys are giving Ortiz way too much credit. He only beat Berto. Got his jaw shattered against Lopez and quit against Maidana. The guys ranked at welter have done nothing ..Thurman hasn't beat anyone yet. Porter has one good win over Devon. Paulie can't beat any of the top 3 who I consider FMJ,Manny,Bradley..then JMM. The rest you can put in any order you want, they haven't done **** yet.

When Floyd was in retirement, he wasn't ranked (2008). By the end of 2009, he came back and fought a guy who was fighting at 130 the year before. Yet, he jumped passed a lot of fighters and was ranked just below Manny and Mosley and was named #2 P4P fighter. When you think about it, even in 2007, his only fight at WW was against a guy who fought only one very average fight at WW. Was that fair? He earned it? Well, it happened.
