The fighters that I want to puh for are GG and Kovalev. I don't like GG. He has not fought a soul and gets props for this. I like Kovalev. Kovalev has some skills but he needs to step up his comp also.
A part of all of us as boxing fans should push for Canelo and Broner to do well

What other viable major PPV stars does boxing have in the pipeline? The sport has a lot of talent in the ring but few who lack the charisma/personality outside of the ring to be major stars.
More stars in the sport of boxing means more opportunities for the sport to thrive which is good for us as fans.Comment

Listen, you guys can keep naming all of these OTHER guys you'd like to be the stars of the sport...BUT YOUR OPINION DOESN'T MATTER! It's about who does numbers! Some of you refuse to acknowledge the BUSINESS aspect of the boxing BUSINESS!
Look, I'd like Rigo to be the face of the sport. I don't give a **** that he doesn't speak English. He is the EPITOME of what the sweet science is about. I would also like Andre Ward to be the face of the sport. These guys are earning it in the ring...BUT THEY DON'T DO NUMBERS SO THEY CAN'T BE! And guess what? That is OK. As long as I can see these guys fight, I don't care if they EVER do PPV.
The point of this thread, and it's a very simple one, is that when the sport has major stars, the sport as a WHOLE does better. We get more cards/promotions/match ups. The networks are more interested in putting on fights (PPV or not). Do you guys understand the basic laws of supply and demand? You're a boxing fan right? Everyone here CONSUMES boxing as a product? Well guess what? The more the product of BOXING is in demand, the more and BETTER supply we'll get.Comment

By keeping boxing relevant. No one is born a hardcore boxing fan, they all need a gateway and they can get that through a well marketed fight.
Unfortunately it just so happens that some of the draws aren't all they're supposed to be but that's just fine, as long as they won't be pampered forever and eventually thrown to the wolves. Like Broner. Granted they weren't planning on it but meh.
I suppose there's a fine balance there.Comment
