Floyd and manny are not friends this is prize fighting manny has yet to man up and every time he fights his stock is declining while Floyd's is increasing!

Floyd at 46-0, 47-0, 48-0, 49-0. 50-0, is going to make a killing! With or without manny because his record is historic considering he has been fighting for 17 years
    TMT 4 Life!!
For real tho, Y u getting so defensive like Floyd getting spooked when someone mentions PAC?? Pac's a very likable guy.

So Pac is supposed to agree to that ridiculous low blow? Y the only people believing 40 mill was reasonable at that time are the handful of hardcore Floyd fans? U keep recycling that BS like its helping your cause. Pretty Sad...

Did Floyd recently call PAC desperate for money and that's y PAC keeps chasing poor lil Floyd for a fight? Well...Pac's proving his point about the money issue. Lets wait a few days or a few months for lil Floyd reaction tho.

Avoided Prime Mosley, Oscar rematch, Kosta, Prime Cotto, Margarito, Paul Williams and the Pacman. He's a joke

Floyd fans are happy he fought Baldomir, Ortiz, Guerrero and soon Khan. They're jokes too

So you think Floyd is going to offer manny 40 million again lol he had his chance and now he will be lucky to get 15 million if he faces Floyd and he will not get any of the PPV money
If Pacman had Garcia-Marthysse on the undercard, he'd be making bank too...and Manny was guaranteed $20 and Floyd $52..you are an idiot if you think he took home %150 mil.

what that meant was manny wouldnt get an "upside" on the ppv. For example, a similar offer could have been say $30 million, with a 20% upside on every buy over say 1.3 million, or something like that. Floyd obviously wanted to keep all accounting in house, so he offered a flat fee for services.

Its still wasnt a terrible offer. Say the fight did 2.5 million buys at $70. Thats a gross of 175 million. After the cable distributors take their cut, thats roughly 96 million left. Add 25-30 million for the live gate, estimate another 10 million or so in overseas sales, sponsors, merchandise, etc, a few million for the rebroadcast rights, minus the undercard and promotion costs, and you end up with a ballpark number somewhere around 120-130 million net revenue.

So the $40 million offer was basically a 65-35 proposal from Floyd. Not great, but not absurd either.

No, he said Floyd himself would get 100%.

you obviously dont understand event economics. Do you think a unicorn magically creates the $40 million, or would you concede that the $40 million might just come from the event (ppv) proceeds?

First off that's a really bad split at the time, it means Floyd sells 2 ppvs for each of Pac's. Their averages at the time were more like 55-45 or closer, a huge net difference here. The other problem is you make some massive assumptions, like the bolded. Bump the price by $10 (surely $80+ a pop), and Pac is missing out huge. Have it sell 3m+, huge loss for Pac. That's why any flat fee is a non starter.

the person in control of the negotiations should always err on the side of caution. Who in their right mind would offer a fee package assuming 3 million buys? Especially at $80?

And instead of making $40 million or more (career high earning by a large margin), he made ZERO. I'd say he "missed out huge"

What part of "I get 100% of the PPV" do you not understand?

If Manny missed out huge, what does that say about what Floyd missed out on considering he said Manny is easy work and easy money?
