not really sure on order, to me though i don't know why people say garcia... the guy is a basic fighter, def not on floyds level and for godsakes, he is a 140 pounder. If you are going 2 divisions lower, go 2 division higher as well. Floyd is to Garcia what ward, froch, and the rest of the 168 pound division is to him. So please boxing fans, cut the crap with the 140 maidana or garcia actually giving floyd a fight, we all know they ain't got **** on him, and if you don't well to quote great uncle roger you simply aren't well informed on boxing matters, or in other words, don't know **** bout boxin. We have two great middleweight champs on record willing to go down to 154, floyd's division to fight him. Those two before all else are at the top of the list... btw I am talking about Golovkin and Martinez of course. After that honestly I haven't watched lara fight accept against paul williams and some highlights against trout, but maybe him and pacquaio are tied I am not sure. Bradley? Floyd does everything bradley does, but better in every category, accept maybe will who knows yet, which never plays a role in a mayweather fight.

It's likely he'll only fight Bradley out of the 4 though. His next 4 opponents will likely be Khan in May, Maidana or Garcia in September, and Thurman & Bradley in 2015.

Martinez at 160 would top my list. Different style to everyone else and something that Mayweather has rarely seen before.

Doesn't need to be at 160, Martinez is willing to do 154 (where FMJ holds a belt).

Realistically, Floyd isn't going to fight any of GGG, Sergio or Pacquiao but there's an outside chance he fights Thurman or Lara.

Lara? All risk no reward. What's Lara's fanbase? Who even knows Lara outside of hardcore fans?

At least with Maidana he just came off a higher profile fight, and the post fight attention was huge... not too mention for Floyd... easy fight.

Why do you think Thurman's highly doubtful? I think that's very possibly for 2015 if Thurman keeps winning.

Lara's not going to happen because everyone with a grain of sense knows Mayweather only fights above his weight class for big money which Lara isn't.

Golovkin and Sergio could work, or alteast Sergio, but neither of those two are going to be able to be healthy at 154 at this point especially Golovkin.

Biggest threat: Erislandy Lara
Earned his shot: Bradley/Garcia (I really dislike Garcia, but he has earned it)
Best Sell: Marco's Maidana

Overall Erislandy Lara is probably the biggest threat to beat Floyd, its been a LONG time since Floyd fought another skill fighter his size. (Zab Judah)

Lara is a skill fighter that is bigger than him, probably better than Judah was, and is a pure counterpuncher.

I'd also like to see Floyd vs Maidana. Awkward fighters like Maidana create nightmares for Floyd's kind of defense. Nobody has ever beaten him fighting in the pocket with him. Success against Maidana has come from tall rangey fighters with young legs who can move for 12 rounds. Floyd doesn't have those young legs any more. It would be interesting to see how he will win.

Floyd doesn't just fight the best fighters with threat... he looks for ways to make a large event, either a fighter with a large fanbase, or someone who can capture the minds of the public at actually having a shot at winning... Like Maidana possibly could coming off a win over a 'similar' style. And to be honest its the only damn reason Maidana is in the running. If Maidana just beat Ortiz, he wouldnt be discussed.

I don't see what Thurman offers for Floyd... maybe that picture changes in the next year.

The public is now informed of Maidana, not Thurman.

Yeah that's true but on the other hand, the options are low at WW and that's where Floyd's going to be fighting for the rest of his career I imagine.

If Thurman keeps winning he's going to get a lot of hype as a threat to Mayweather and I could definitely see that happening down the line if he continues to do as well as he's doing and build a good resume at WW.

He's definitely not fighting him in the near future but by 2015 I could definitely see it.

Last 4 fights that I'd like to see are;

Maidana
Garcia
Bradley
Thurman

A lot might have changed by this time next year so that fourth option could change.

And it looks like it's going to be Khan next anyway so that list is unlikely to happen.

I'd like to see Maidana because I feel strongly that he would apply the type of pressure and volume that could force Mayweather out of his game. Bradley is also an intriguing match up because of his resolve and his ability to put punches together.

Garcia and Thurman, in my opinion, would be easy fights for Mayweather, as they are both lesser versions of Canelo. Powerful punchers who aren't good at applying pressure, and are too selective with their punches.

The reason Mayweather may be reluctant to fight Pac is because Pac is a high volume puncher with the stamina to do it all night, and the speed to get some of those punches home.

Delahoya lost to Mayweather, but he laid the blueprint for beating him at the same time. Pressure him, get him in the corner where he has nowhere to run, and then work his body.

Delahoya just didn't have enough gas in the tank to sustain it.

Pacquiao does.

My list of fights I'd like to see Mayweather in is as follows:

Pacquiao
Maidana
Provodnikov
Matthysee

It's gotta be pressure fighters who will cut off the ring and throw punches. Pac is a boxer/puncher, but it's safe to say he'd be a pressure fighter against Mayweather, because it's his only chance of winning.

You'd think Alavarez would have known the same thing, but he chose to give Mayweather his space and he's easily broken down.

I think he fights Garcia before that happens.

Especially if Garcia keeps winning, Garcia has a decent latino fanbase.

I'm expecting Garcia in September.

Hopefully Maidana for May but it's looking like Khan sadly.

IMO, the obvious choices for this year are Maidana and Garcia but it seems GBP are set and really trying to push for Khan for a reason I simply cannot work out.

Sergio has no chance, none whatsoever. In fact, I'm wondering why Floyd hasn't cashed in on that extremely easy, yet fan friendly fight.

I think the only thing holding Floyd back on that is the fact that Martinez is in the same weight class as Golovkin, so fighting Martinez would naturally prompt fans to ask, "If Floyd can fight Martinez, why not Golovkin?"

Floyd wants no part of Golovkin, and I don't blame him, as it's not really a fair fight. Golovkin is considerably bigger than Floyd, and I wouldn't particularly be impressed by him beating Floyd, as it would be the expected outcome in such a drastic step up in weight class.

Let's not be fooled by Mayweather's holding of two middleweight titles, the man is really a welterweight.
