Actual real THREAT for Floyd at this point is sparse.

Just listing fighters that are good enough that have a chance... lets not forget Floyd turns 37 next month.

I dont think Garcia, Maidana, hell even Martinez beat Mayweather...

I think Golovkin poses a real threat actually, Floyd does not want to trade with that guy.

Depends how Sergio looks next time we see him, he has been fossilizing at a rapid pace but its hard to get the version of him that beat Bunema out of my mind though it was a long time ago.

Sergio has no chance, none whatsoever. In fact, I'm wondering why Floyd hasn't cashed in on that extremely easy, yet fan friendly fight.

I think the only thing holding Floyd back on that is the fact that Martinez is in the same weight class as Golovkin, so fighting Martinez would naturally prompt fans to ask, "If Floyd can fight Martinez, why not Golovkin?"

Floyd wants no part of Golovkin, and I don't blame him, as it's not really a fair fight. Golovkin is considerably bigger than Floyd, and I wouldn't particularly be impressed by him beating Floyd, as it would be the expected outcome in such a drastic step up in weight class.

Let's not be fooled by Mayweather's holding of two middleweight titles, the man is really a welterweight.

No one is but he went up before he can't cite someone being too big if they can make it down as a reason as why not to fight him.

There's a never ending discussion about Floyd cherry picking his opponents claiming he always takes the easiest fights. I don't necessarily agree or disagree with one side over the other. But please do me a favor and list the four people you would most like to see Floyd fight in order of their threat level to Floyd. Which four fighters should be on Floyd's radar to end his six fight contract with Showtime.

I would really like to see Floyd fight Bradley. Pacquiao would be my preferred opponent, but well, that won't happen... Bradley is a good fighter with a good resume, even though he lost to Pacquiao. And it's a long time since Floyd fought a fellow black American boxer, which tends to be the best in the ring for some reason.

If you want to see Floyd in some competitive fights for his last 3.

It should be Sergio, Bradley, and Lara. These are the only guys I can see winning at least or more than 3 rounds. Anybody else is a complete 12 rounds to zero shutout.

Having said that, Floyd/Sergio isn't happening unless it's at 54. Floyd/Lara aint happening cause he has less fans than Rigo. And Bradley aint happening unless he leaves Arum.

That's boxing for you.

Midway through the Mosley fight I gave up hope of ever seeing Floyd in a truly competitive contest.

After what he did to Marquez, all I ask is that his opponent comes up to scratch, gives a good account of himself, and doesn't get too embarrassed. I felt that Cotto managed that, all things considered.

So whilst I don't necessarily expect much from these fighters, I'd like to see how Bradley, Golovkin and Garcia would fair. Golovkin for the psychical threat. Bradley and Garcia because they have both cultivated a mindset that always looks for a way to win.

At 147 Pacquiao has a very good chance of beating Floyd.


Is Floyd faster? No.
Does he hit harder? No.
Is his footwork better? Maybe!


You guys have been fooled lately. Guerrero and Canelo made you guys buy Floyd is a defensive wizard. Look at the Cotto fight.

My man, you've clearly thrown logic out of the window and are going with you're emotions. I want to take advantage of that. If it ever happens, $1000 that Floyd shuts out Manny and $1000 that Floyd embarrasses Lara. What do you say?
