Vitali Klitschko May Return, Pending Elections in Kiev
    By David A. Avila (Febraury 7, 2006)

It's just chatter at the moment but Vitali Klitschko, who relinquished his WBC heavyweight crown after suffering a knee injury, may return to the ring if his political aspirations don't prove successful.

"Vitali has been talking about coming back if he isn't elected mayor in Kiev," said Tom Loeffler, manager of K2 Promotions, the company that was started by Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko a few years back. "Don't be surprised if he returns to boxing."

The elections in Kiev, Ukraine are taking place in March.
Klitshcko had been within days of defending the WBC title against Hasim Rahman when he suffered a knee injury while training. Now, Rahman is poised to defend the title against James "Lights Out" Toney on March 18 in Atlantic City.

Loeffler said younger brother Wladimir Klitshcko is poised to meet IBF title-holder Chris Byrd in Germany on April 22nd.

It was just a month ago that the eldest Klitschko stated he would hang up his gloves, but with one heavyweight title-holder John Ruiz losing his belt to Russian giant Nicolay Valuev, and his younger brother poised to meet IBF title-holder Chris Byrd, it just might be enough incentive for Dr. Ironfist to return.
He might actually come back I think.Maybe it was a plan for him to heal and let His younger brother back in the picture and then we all know Vitali will take a tune up and be right back in a title fight in no time, just because of the politics of fighting. What if they both held all portions of the title?people would start the fight each other talk and they could stage a bunk ass boring friendship fight and robb the public of millions. This is just a theory but has it no validity?

Out of today's bunch, nobody comes close to Lewis's resume. Even Vitali. I don't see anybody as a true champ ever since Lewis retired. Vitali was the closest but he never accomplished many things to even come close to Lewis.

What did he do to deserve anymore credit than the "pretenders" you mention?

Answer: Nothing. He had two fights in two years agaisnt out of shape fringe contenders.

He can't make it through a training camp, yet you think getting a year older and being inactive a 2nd consecutive year puts him in a position to win a good fight nevermind show up in the ring uninjured and ready to fight?

        Come on.

....So you think Ruiz, Rahman, and Byrd were on par with Vitali when he was around? You probably have about 5 people on here and maybe 4 or 5 sports writers who would agree with that. Everyone else would see it pretty much the way that Ring Magazine, myself, and other credible experts see it. If he does come back I hope it's to whip your boy Toney's ass and take back the WBC belt. Now that would be priceless indeed. If Wlad ends up beating Brewster or Vitali comes back and gets Toney your frickin head would explode all over those precious sheets. ha ha

Notice all the "Ifs" and "I hopes"?

          That's all you ever had.

The bottom line is that before Vitali retired, he fought two out of shape fringe contenders and had a lot of hype and praise thrown at him for what he was supposed to do next.

He did nothing next, and retired having accomplished almost nothing in his entire career.

I know this hurts your feelings, and has seen your post count in this fourm about boxing drop to next to nothing.

All you had was "ifs" and "I hopes", and that's all you're back with in this thread.

He's accomplihsed nothing, and it's over. Time to let it go.

Why would anyone be upset by this?

He couldn't get through a training camp without hurting himself, and you think he'll fight again?

The only reason this thread sucks is not because of the content, but because it gets trolling losers like yourself that post little to nothing about boxing to come back posting circle jerk threads.

He's done. I know it hurts, but he's done.
            Just keep repeating yourself bozo...

But there is a solution for you...
I strongly suggest you go to Ukraine and start a campaign for Vitali encouraging people to vote. After all, this is the least you can do to save the division

What are his chances of actually losing this election? I personally think that he will win by a landslide. So I doubt he will be back unless he pulls out of the election with an injury. Sorry, I'm a huge K2 fan and that was funny!
