Originally posted by BrokenHat View PostYea, you're right. It's not a purely new phenomena, but they have new variants on PEDs, that aren't that new anymore really.
In boxing all they do is check if you've used the most basic anabolic steroids within the last 2-3 weeks from fight night.
That is why boxers categorically know they will not get caught; this is exactly what used to happen in the Olympics prior to 2004. Everyone knew the testing window. And if they do get caught, no one will care. What happened to Peterson, Berto, and Rios for getting caught. Absolutely nothing.
If anything, Peterson has been rewarded. He got to keep his belt. Lost his next fight, still kept his belt. And the win. And he gets signed by the biggest promoters in boxing.
The professional boxing community is endorsing PED use with a huge stamp, and a lot of these guys don't come from money. So when everything you hold dear is on the line, and you think your opponent is cheating, and this is your ONLY shot at real money, why wouldn't you use PEDs?
Every single one of us would use PEDs in this situation. There are the few fighters with sensational amateur pedigrees who start to tapper off when they reach 30, that I believe probably didn't use PEDs.
Almost everyone in cycling and running was on peds, over 90%. In god damned cycling! In boxing the incentive to juice is waaaaaaay higher.
The reason this happens is, because boxing is minority sport, so the congress doesn't give a $h!t like they did in baseball, or cycling, where the audience is uniformly white.
You've brought up so many points it ain't even funny. Many things I've said here from time to time.
For instance, year-round random drug testing. It is a complete joke because if any of these boxers test positive when they are out of competition, there will be no penalties! So what is the point? And even when they are caught in-competition, the penalty is what, a couple months? Joke!
And many do not see the very obvious corruption of boxing. They are so blinded that they think it's a coincidence convicted PED peddlers like Memo Heredia and Victor Conte come running into boxing -- out of all the sports out there!
I think the NBA has gone under the radar for PEDs too. Very under the radar. Their testing is a complete joke too. Worse than boxing I think actually.

floyd the roided fraud was suspected of using peds and to keep away from public scrutiny he uses a loophole to continue his cheating ways. this is the same guy that started a crusade to clean not only boxing but all of sports of peds.
what i don't understand now is how come floydiots still try to defend this roided fraud?

More specifically, it was rumored that Mayweather’s “A” sample had tested positive on three occasions and, after each positive test, USADA had found exceptional circumstances in the form of inadvertent use and gave Floyd a waiver. This waiver, according to the rumor, negated the need for a test of Floyd’s “B” sample. And because the “B” sample was never tested, a loophole in USADA’s contract with Mayweather and Golden Boy allowed the testing to proceed without the positive “A” sample results being reported to Mayweather’s opponent or the Nevada State Athletic Commission (which had jurisdiction over the fights).

I'll say this again do I think Floyd is capable and has the ego to take PED he sure does. But there certain that doesn't add up. Why did no reputible company run with this story from ESPN OTL,USA Today,60 minutes,Sports Illustrated etc. It's not like Floyd is a media darling that people will protect most boxing writers can't stand the guy. You honestly think if there was a smoking gun Chris Mannix or Dan Rafeal wouldn't jump at that oppurtinity. Golden Boy or Floyd Mayweather doesn't have enough money to USADA let him test positive and go thru a Congressional hearing and get there company disbanded ala Balco nobody likes him that much to put there company on the line.

Theres too much money involved for the truth to come out and cancel the fight. Al Haymon probably gave USADA $10+ million for them to keep there mouth shut
Alot of floyd's fighters like Bey, Love, etc have also tested positive but those fights weren't big money fights so Al Haymon was like screw it
