Why exactly is it so hard to fight kovalev? Because he's that good?
Cloud was number 5 and Bellow 7 at the year end ranking as well as Dawson being number 1 when Stevenson beat him. How many other fighters fought that kind of comp in 2013? The fight will happen, but no fighter fights top comp every time out.

Sparks would fly!! Anyone can get hit and hurt and taken out when both guys shoot heat sinking missiles. I wouldn't bet on this one.

Fonfora is #5 in TBRB, and deservingly so after beating Campillo (which is also Kovalev's best win). And Pascal, the former lineal light heavyweight champ, is ranked #3.

EDIT: They hold the same positions in Cliff Rold's boxingscene rankings.

this might not be the biggest fight $ wise but its arguably the most entertaining fight on paper with world class fighters that can be made right now. i cant wait for it they both have ridiculous power but its still the aggressive come forward fighter vs the counter puncher its gonna be epic.

Same ppl that'll say Mares was "exposed" after one loss, while undermining all his accomplishments.

Stevenson is simply squeezing in paydays and doesnt work for these posters to fight Kovalev next. He can easily fite without HBO/Showtime defend his title vs fringe contenders and still bank in big $$$ cuz Quebec ppl get behind their fiters big time boxing/mma. The fact that he wants to be on HBO he wants prove something and will fight Kovalev as hes not fighting on Stevenson's undercards cuz he likes being #2. If not eff him cuz i had to write all this lol

They really do don't they. (I say this from the next Provence over.) In Toronto when I go out to watch a PPV it's usually a crowd of whatever group the headliner comes from, some other folks, and me. When I've been out in Montreal you'll actually see adverts for 'local' fighters and events seem well attended.

This is a great deal both for Adonis and the fans. His 3 choices this year will likely be Pascal/Bute winner, Froch (or Fonfara) and Kovalev. I have no problem with any of those 3 options, and I think all those fights will be entertaining.

As you say, all good fights - whilst Stevenson - Kovalev is obviously the one everyone wants, I can't see any issue with any of the other fights. All of them are good fights in their own right and Stevenson is smart to be making the most out of his title financially.

Kovalev may find himself slightly sidelined this year while waiting for the Stevenson fight tho. If Stevenson gets Fonfara and Pascal (which I think might happen win or lose) there just ain't many big names left for Kovalev (I doubt either Cloud or Dawson will want a piece at this stage of their careers).

Exactly!! in Anglo-Canada its a "yeh whatever" kinda deal just look at Steve Molitor never got the props he deserved being first Ontario born world champ. Quebec not only gets behind their pros they also "always" host the amateur nationals. Ontario is seriously wayyy behind considering Tdot being diverse all they should do is put one ethnic group vs another bam full house.

What i heard is that boxing promoters get a bit too hard of a time by the ontario commissioner compared to MMA so theyre reluctant to put regular series thus no tv deals. Rest of Canada doesnt have the talent pool for great sparring to keep their stars home as they too travel to Quebec to seek fortunes.

We do have Logan "cotton" Mcguiness and tyler asselstine from Ont to look out for.
