Why did Schaefer lie about the rematch clause?

Curious to know why Schaefer would lie about it. At first he says there was none now there is one. They are both promoted by GB so I'm sure he knew. So is it because they want Broner to avenge his loss to do some damage control to save their future ppv star? Or did he lie about the clause in the beginning thinking Maidana could potentially fight Floyd? Not sure why he would lie.

Schaefer is a shady individual. I remember it clear as day, there was no rematch clause. Bet they thought they could slip that into the contract now somehow and Maidana and his team would have played along. Very happy to see Maidana stand his ground and sit back like he should evaluating his options.

He should demand a Mayweather fight or simply retire.

I was wondering this too. It was reported after the fight that Broner said he wanted a rematch but there wasn't a clause so he'd have to wait to see what Maidana wanted. Now there is one. IT looks like they've invested so much in Broner they don't want to see his stock fade so quickly.

Other than Floyd who else is Maidana going to fight where he can make a big payday?

I'm not sure why this is such a big deal. The Broner rematch is the best thing for Maidana.

You do realise GBP was as much scum as TR right? Boxing is a dirty sport. No one is above the other. Some people have sided with GBP because of Mayweather etc... but they are ******.

There was never a rematch clause. Maidana getting blackballed out of a Mayweather fight. GBP has been dying to make Mayweather vs Khan but it's gonna backfire.
