that would be a built in hatred for floyd mayweather and goldenboy promotions. we know a few of people who harbor that sort of thing, don't we bojangles ?

That's a good portion of this site. At least 60-65 percent.

The foundation of Canelo's hype came from the fact that he beat Trout in a unimpressive manner imho. Many of us knew he had little to no chance again Floyd, so that didn't affect my perception of him. What affected his hype is the fact that Lara performed better against Trout. Canelo has the chance to balance it out by beating Angulo in a more impressive manner than Lara.

hatred for alvarez was established well before the trout fight. it was much, much worse. the trout fight wasn't a robbery at all, and anybody who complained about it doesn't understand what a robbery is.

alvarez gained hatred because he was a young fighter with money making potential who was being moved accordingly.

Trout never had a chance with those judges. It wasn't a robbery in that Trout won 8 clear rounds and obviously won, but it was a robbery in that not only were the judges incompetent/corrupt/both, but both fighters knew it during the fight. It was a fight that could have gone either way, and opinion of who won was split.

He was getting criticized for the Cintron and Mosley fight already. He was also getting ridiculed for the Hatton fight. Also, people were saying he sucks because he couldn't KO Lovemore NDou, who has 12-13 losses and has never been knocked out.

Don't even get me started with the Lopez fight.

Oh, he was also getting criticized for getting buzzed by Jose Cotto, when he was like 19 years old.

Entering the Trout fight, the Canelo hate was already full blown. It was definitely not after.

Ryan Rhodes was ranked #4 at JMW, Canelo was like #8. But to the anti-GBP fans, Rhodes was not good enough, too old, and Canelo was cherrypicking. This was a 21 year old Canelo. Critics have unknowingly put this guy on a pedestal. They have higher standards for him than they do with Pacquiao. Pacquiao coming off a loss it's okay for him to fight Rios. Canelo coming off a loss to the #1 P4P fighter, needs to fight Erislandy Lara, and Angulo is a cherrypick.

i was never high on canelo (and you can check my post history)......always thought he never deserved the floyd fight...and i continue to think he is a full blown hype job until he starts beating the top guys in his division....

only reason there was so much hype was because he was demolishing irrelevant opponents who were either 2 weight classes below him or shot and old......
