Last boxer that said he wanted to clean out his division was Amir Khan lmfao n look how that turned out
But got mad props for triple G. Hope he can become the face of boxing and win that ONE BIG fight ala vs Martinez, Ward etc. and not blow that chance ala Canelo getting embarasssed by FloydComment

This notion of fighters moving up as standard gets a little silly at times, if he feels good at 160 then he is a MW and we may have to accept that he is going to stay there his whole career.Comment

Exactly but they wont tho because they have a ton of fan boys and people who will make excuses for him and then try to boost it up like he had no credible opponents his size or biggerComment

No he doesn't, this isn't Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather we're talking about. Golovkin is not a PPV fighter and has only recently become semi-popular with casuals, he only gets paid $300-400k per fight. He's not going to start dictating to his paymasters who have already turned down a series of opponents for him not long ago.
Even Floyd has to get his opponents approved, Showtime will be pushing for certain fighters for him too and Golovkin is nowhere near his level in terms of draw. Andre Ward is another who has been around a while, he came up with two opponents and HBO turned him down flat insisting on Rodriguez.
Like Hopkins said recently, the TV networks are overlapping as promoter these days.Comment

Pac and May were not selling millions of PPVs until they got there big break against Dela Hoya. I would never say never for GGG becoming a star. His style lends itself well to fans and casuals. He has fought 4 times in US and is already amongst the top fighters in ratings.Comment

This is what I like to hear when I start my day lol. One of my favorite qualities about Golovkin is that he fights so frequently. He'll prove to be a p4p fighter by the end of this year.
I also like that he wants to clean out 160. That's what he should do. Try to take out Sergio, Quillen, Sturm, or Murray. If they don't want it, GGG will keep adding names to the 'Good Boy List' making them look worse and worse. If he keeps this up, in 2 years he'll make 8 more good boys lol
154 lbers don't bother me so much because I don't want him to go UP in weight too soon and have trouble coming back down in the future. I don't want there to be any doubt that he wasn't a monster. Maybe there is an error in my reasoning but it looks difficult to go up in weight and then back down. Names like Kirkland and Canelo will just be icing on the cake when it's all said and done.
That's not to say I don't want him to move up and take over another division. I'd like for him to get JCC Jr. fight him at 168-175 (I think he beats him at any weight), Froch and Ward. I know I sound like a total fanboy but I'm somewhat realistic since I don't think he'd beat Ward. I do think he beats everyone 168 and below except him.
War GGG! Become the new face of boxing.Comment

I would hope so. Golovkin himself obviously has little say, but whether it's Loeffler or HBO that makes the decisions I'll be disappointed if Kirkland is chosen over Geale.
I think it'd be a bad mistake, even if Kirklad might sell better as the US fighter and KO artist. In terms of proving his credentials, Geale is by far the more credible opponent - it'd probably cost some more and may not earn as much, but at some point that's just a sacrifice that has to be made if HBO believe in GGG.Comment

Who has Kirkland actually beaten besides Angulo and you can't even rate Glen Tapia as he was literally an unproven fresh off of ESPN FNF's guy and Kirkland was getting owned by Molina so that win really shouldn't even count. Kirkland is exciting but just rushing at people face first blocking punches with your face is terrible and he wont EVER beat a legit elite guy at 154 hell Lara or Canelo would own Kirkland and Floyd would box his ears offComment
