Damn there's a lot of upset people at GGG. You know he's doing something right if he stirs up this much hate.Comment

Who has Kirkland actually beaten besides Angulo and you can't even rate Glen Tapia as he was literally an unproven fresh off of ESPN FNF's guy and Kirkland was getting owned by Molina so that win really shouldn't even count. Kirkland is exciting but just rushing at people face first blocking punches with your face is terrible and he wont EVER beat a legit elite guy at 154 hell Lara or Canelo would own Kirkland and Floyd would box his ears off
Call me crazy but floyd would be pretty undersized and would have a hard time keeping that beast off him.
Kirkland is all animal, science is out the window no doubt, but he's no walk in the park for most guys.
With that said, I want Kirkland to stay at 154 and I want GGG vs Geale.Comment

I like GGG and think a lot of people like him or at least want to like him because he is probably the most exciting fighter out right now but people want to see him fight a lot better competition, he was moving in the right direction when he fought Macklin but then he went right back to fighting cab drivers (stevens) and this new guy I have never heard of. The worst part is these cab drivers are getting title shots and don't even deserve them when there are guys rated in the top 15 who do deserve a shot. If he fights better comp he will get all of the praise that he deserves but right now its hard to give it to him because of the limited resume and his team and fans always claiming everyone from 154-168 is ducking him when its totally not the case. He made that statement when he was still an unknown and now a year later he has some fame and is realizing that boxing is a business and that he can't or they wont let him fight ANYONE from those weight classes so now his team is saying that he needs to stay at 160 which is fine I have no problem with a fighter staying at his weight class but don't still make those ill fight anyone claims and then not live up to them when people are willing and ready to fight you and then you end up fighting more cab drivers and tomato cans.Comment

if his focus is 160, cool. but dont let it leave your mouth anymore that you're willing to fight anyone from "154-168" because that just isnt trueComment

I'm sure Golovkin's team has enough say to insist on someone better and make offers before settling on Kirkland. It's not like fighting Geale would do such worse numbers than Kirkland that HBO is completely against it. It's up to the fighter and his team to insist.Comment

That's the way to do it! Clean out 160 then move up to 168. Don't worry about moving up and down and all that nonsense. Stick to one division at at imeComment

Best fighters at 160lbs (in semi order) are Martinez (recovery then Cotto), Quillin (GB), Sturm (Murray), Murray (Sturm), Barker (recovery), Macklin (already beat), Geale (Wood).
I suppose there is Andy Lee, but he's looking to fight Macklin in the spring already. Andy Lee is already pushing it, but it looks like nobody decent will be available to fight GGG in April, so his best bet will be the Kirkland fight that HBO is rumored to want to make.
And the fans want it too. It was the most popular fight on that double header night, despite being the co main event to a weak main event (Rigondeaux vs punching bag). So clearly the fans love Kirkland.
I don't want this fight personally, but HBO probably sees Kirkland as more valuable than Geale or Lee for GGG and is going to do that.
Kirkland will probably be KO'd fast, he's very hittable and GGG isn't going to box himself out before the KO, unlike Angulo. GGG's power is just on another level (as is his speed/accuracy). And poor Kirkland will suffer yet another setback for his career, this one actually not being his fault.Comment
