HBO put the money up for Golovkin, there is little he can do. It's up to the fans to object and put pressure on the TV networks.

I'm sure Golovkin's team has enough say to insist on someone better and make offers before settling on Kirkland. It's not like fighting Geale would do such worse numbers than Kirkland that HBO is completely against it. It's up to the fighter and his team to insist.

HBO have to approve his opponents for TV. If they want Kirkland over Geale then that's what it's going to be. He who pays the piper calls the tune.

He is right in the middle of the cold war. He fights on HBO and they dont do business with GB.

As for being a free agent, why does he have to leave K2? They are among, if not the premier promoter outside the US

I wish he could somehow fight peter quillen. That would be a clear, defining win for GGG and then martinez at the end of the year. After that, he could move up to super middleweight for an andre ward clash.

I think he is Promoted by K2 Promotions. I still wanna see him fight Pirog.

I want to see GGG fight everyone. Love watching this dude compete. I do hope he can land some good names in 2014 though. Qullin, Martinez, Geal, Murray.

GGG hopefully has another 4 fight flagship type of year and then with some luck 2015 can be all about him and Ward meeting in the middle somewhere.

Put it on these other guys to step in and fight you. See how many pull a "Mayweather", and come up with a laundry list of excuse not to fight you, and hope someone else steps in, gets lucky and does the dirty work for you. From '54-'68, you have Canelo, Cotto, Chavez Jr, Sergio, Quillen, Andre Ward, I mean it doesn't get any better than that and Gennady is willing to fight them all. That's Marvin Hagler mindset!!!
