People can argue Arum this and Haymon that but this fight didn't happen because of the promoters..both sides. The two boxers don't get the gravity of the situation but they will once their careers end and there are no new highlights coming in. Once the years pass and the luster of those early career wins fade, the flavor of the belt, the flavor of being champion..when all that's discussed and it lands on the flaws of their careers not fighting each other will be it.
no it wont manny was never on floyds level, and for the love of god why do people like you think floyds life is a video game here for your amusment. he has bills to pay just like you, so why treat him differently from your self. stop degrading his humanity because when you degrade him it makes you look bad.

ALI, FOREMAN, LEONARD, HEARNS, DURAN, LEWIS, HOLYFIELD, HOPKINS etc... never duck a fight, they fought the best to prove they are the top guy in the division and the sport...

to be fair, oscar at that point was faded... margs was almost peak. i would consider margs more dangerous at the time. oscar was simply a money fight and a turning point for floyds career, so i dont knock it.

i agree, pac needs to get out asap. arum + koncz will ruin him.... and they already are.

        • The desperation to avoid the overwhelming public demand for him to face Pacquiao is reaching epic proportions.

This is rich, okay, so if I take the time to correct erroneous information and outright lies my opinion is diminished? That's ****ing ******ed, shouldn't the exact opposite be true? If I take the time to defend my position with reason and facts, shouldn't that lend credibility to my argument? And I hate to break it to you but there aren't many "unbiased onlookers" in NSB, and the ones that are here don't post, they lurk.

And as a traditional fan I could care less if a fighter experienced a brutal loss or if he isn't as sharp as he was in his prime (neither of them are); won't be the first & won't be the last. Naturally you would want to see the greatest fighters of your generation go at it.

Now that in combination with what I said in my last post makes me find it hard to see the logic or reason behind your argument. Anyone who knows & respects the history of boxing would just think you're a fool.
Its hard to read your post and not think you're a complete idiot, seriously. I too want both "warriors" to lace up their gloves, all true fans of the sport have wanted this for years, and that's the hook Bob Arum has used to parade Manny in front of the public a slew of times with Marquez and others, all the while "promising" a potential fight with Mayweather. That's total bvll**** dude. Arum knew this all along because his bottom line and our bottom lines as fans are mutually exclusive. Sometimes those interests overlap but make no mistake, Arum's out to make buck period.

I really wanted to see this fight in the past, now, not so much. Contrary to yourself a superfight is much less appealing if one of the potential combatants is KTFO in their recent past.

I never said any of his opponents was invincible, please point out where I stated that. Floyd's been in some fights, but he's won all of them period, next.

No, a fighter's job is more than just to fight, they're also responsible for their careers and lives. Manny didn't think his job was anything other than fighting, but look where this fool is now.

                  1. Your opinion is diminished because you make statements that puts doubt in the air that you're truly unbiased; you cast yourself as a casual with a set agenda. And most of what you speak is pure opinion, not indisputable facts so let's not flatter ourselves.

                  2. Think what you want; who cares what a biased stranger thinks about them? I'm sure I'll live.

                  3. Blaming one side entirely. More biased behavior.

                  4. If you use context clues it's very obvious that I'm making reference to Floyd's own mortality. What happened to being literate?

Dude I'm not trying to flatter myself, give me a mother****ing break okay? I'm rendering an opinion based on facts but unfortunately the figure around which those facts are based is very controversial. So my casual opinion comes off as biased because with Mayweather, there can be no middle ground, especially at NSB.

It isn't about "blame" dude, this isn't a bad marriage or a court of law. If you follow the breadcrumbs like Hansel and Gretel they eventually lead to the candy house of a hearty **** named Bob Arum. If I've said it once I'll say it again, Arum is the P.T. Barnum of boxing, he specializes in sideshows, freaks and slight of hand. Believe a goddamn word he says at your own risk.

There's a sucker born every minute.

What ever happened to making sense, and that sense of shame that came with a lack of comprehension?

                    • Nothing rocket science about this. It's no use negotiating with a coward. Yesterday it was drug testing. Now it's Arum's disappearance. People need to move on and stop justifying this coward's excuses. He's scared. Hehe...
