We love you Floyd but everything that comes out this dudes mouth is money and business these days...for a guy who is arguably the best of his generation he sure has stopped talking about legacy the last few years...it went from wanting to be the greatest to the richest...well you are the richest now...what's left but legacy? People can argue Arum this and Haymon that but this fight didn't happen because of the promoters..both sides. The two boxers don't get the gravity of the situation but they will once their careers end and there are no new highlights coming in. Once the years pass and the luster of those early career wins fade, the flavor of the belt, the flavor of being champion..when all that's discussed and it lands on the flaws of their careers not fighting each other will be it.

Oscar De La Hoya 154 > Antonio Margarito 147. Arum said along time ago that Floyd would have fought Margarito if Arum made the Oscar fight but Arum being Arum didn't want to do business with Oscar so Floyd left Arum and made the fight. Something Manny has yet to do.

to be fair, oscar at that point was faded... margs was almost peak. i would consider margs more dangerous at the time. oscar was simply a money fight and a turning point for floyds career, so i dont knock it.

This is my whole problem with people who go out of their way to defend Floyd; it diminishes your opinion to unbiased onlookers (same goes for any fanatic).

This is rich, okay, so if I take the time to correct erroneous information and outright lies my opinion is diminished? That's ****ing ******ed, shouldn't the exact opposite be true? If I take the time to defend my position with reason and facts, shouldn't that lend credibility to my argument? And I hate to break it to you but there aren't many "unbiased onlookers" in NSB, and the ones that are here don't post, they lurk.

I've saw both Floyd & Manny demolish some of the best boxing had to offer, in their own fashion; and as a traditional fan of the sport believed (& still believes) that they should lace 'em up and settle their differences like the two great warriors I believed them to be. And as a traditional fan I could care less if a fighter experienced a brutal loss or if he isn't as sharp as he was in his prime (neither of them are); won't be the first & won't be the last. Naturally you would want to see the greatest fighters of your generation go at it.

Now that in combination with what I said in my last post makes me find it hard to see the logic or reason behind your argument. Anyone who knows & respects the history of boxing would just think you're a fool.

I too want both "warriors" to lace up their gloves, all true fans of the sport have wanted this for years, and that's the hook Bob Arum has used to parade Manny in front of the public a slew of times with Marquez and others, all the while "promising" a potential fight with Mayweather. That's total bvll**** dude. Arum knew this all along because his bottom line and our bottom lines as fans are mutually exclusive. Sometimes those interests overlap but make no mistake, Arum's out to make buck period.

I really wanted to see this fight in the past, now, not so much. Contrary to yourself a superfight is much less appealing if one of the potential combatants is KTFO in their recent past.

Edit: Castillo arguably bested Floyd in their first fight, Cotto roughed him up, an old Oscar applied pressure that he just barely dealt with, an old Mosley rocked his world .. Let's stop acting like these guys are invincible or untouchable cause they've both been shown to be vulnerable.

So my casual opinion comes off as biased because with Mayweather, there can be no middle ground, especially at NSB.
