I'm not going to go into bone structure again for this thread but I can promise you that a 220 pound heavyweight facing a man 30 pounds heavier (a lot of it fat) is nowhere near as dangerous as throwing a 120 pound fighter in with a middleweight. Most heavyweights weighing over 230 pounds or either out of shape or are overly muscular and it really doesn't help them much against smaller heavyweights fighting at their natural weight.

Guys like Valuev are difference because he has a huge skeleton and he's truly a natural 300 pounder. If the division was full of guys that size I'd say okay maybe you're on to something with the superheavyweight division, but the fact remains that most of those 240 pound guys (ie Rahman) would naturally weigh about 200-220 pounds but are bulked up with extra fat and muscle.

Let it stay as it is.

Guys, listen. The only reason Bloodshed brought this up is because it's Klitschko and he has some deep-rooted issues with the guy. That's plainly obvious.

Where was this outrage when Byrd fought Golota? Or McCline at 270? LOL

For that matter, where was the outrage when Wlad had to fight McCline? Wlad is 240, McCline is 270. "OH BOY, WE NEED A NEW SUPER-SUPER HW DIVISION NOW! BECAUSE GUYS LIKE McCLINE ARE PICKING ON SMALLER HWs!!!!" That's about the same weight difference as Byrd-Klitschko.

This thread is not about the issue of smaller HWs fighting larger ones. It's simply about one fan's dislike for Klitschko. Simple.

The Heavyweight division is by leaps and bounds the worst division in boxing. If you add a Super Heavyweight division, you're basically rewarding the worst in the sport with more belts. I think it's a very bad idea. With the exception of Lennox Lewis and the Klitschkos, the larger Heavyweights have not been as successful as the smaller or average size Heavyweights. Valuev is not, in my opinion, one of the better guys in the division. He won a decision against Ruiz, who is not a big Heavyweight, that, in my eyes, was somewhat of a gift. I don't like Ruiz, but I would've liked to have seen him lose the strap in a one-sided, non-controversial loss. The Heavyweight division would no longer be the worst division in boxing if they brought in a Super Heavy class, the SHW division would be. Let's focus on making the HW division decent again, not split it up and have two trash divisions instead of the one we already have.

You are pathetic. Why aren't you demanding he fight Brewster again?

youre so ****** you just made my point for me. you said that wlad is picking on smaller guys, my post clearly was pointing out the fact that byrd is picking on guys who he knows suck... thank you for agreeing with me i appreciate you coming to your senses.

              which is worse????

              A) fighting the best heavyweights in the world that just happen to be smaller than you?? peter, brewster, byrd

              or

              B) knowingly fighting sorry ass competition that doesent deserve a title shot so that you can retain your belt?? oquendo, golota, meehan, williamson....

also id like to point out that wlad klitschko and samuel peter weighed in at almost identical numbers for their fight. i think you should commend wlad for fighting somebody who was carrying all that dangerous weight.

man it feels good to be so right

There should be a weight limit to keep abnormally big fighters like Valuev out of the sport.
