Golovkin returns on February 1 in Monte Carlo against Osumanu Adama. Golovkin seems to be focused on cleaning out the middleweight division, and then he'll consider the idea of moving up in weight to face Ward, who will be the odds-on favorite in the fight.

He will campaign at 160 and hope Sergio does well enough to secure a bout with him. If not there maybe a few fights at 160 to make if any of the "junior" middles move up!
I do think he will go after Ward and build himself up over a years time to be solid at 165lbs. He will give away some weight at 168 but I think he'll bring his punch with him. Either way I prefer watching him as opposed to Strum and Gaele and all the other "swimmers" who can't get out of the pool. Their boring, he isn't!

HBO will at most only pay 3 million for a telecast nowadays. I don't think that's changing any time soon. Ward is already in the 2 million paycheck threshold fighting the likes of Rodriguez. And Golovkin's next fight on regular HBO will likely give him first million dollar paycheck and will only increase from there. A year from now this fight will be impossible because both fighters will be asking for too much. HBO is not going to pony up. And no freaken way Golovkin vs Ward will ever be a PPV. The time for this fight to happen is now when Golovkin still comes cheap.
