When did Ward ever state this? Do you have a source?

I'd like to see Golovkin fight martinez then go to 168, fight chaves jr, and if he gets past him fight ward.

Fight each other before ward goes up to LHW.

As has been pointed out, both guys are reading from the same book - Ward said exactly the same thing - it's a good fight for the future.

Until GGG can either prove himself by clearing out 160 or become a really big financial draw, the Ward fight should probably wait. Lotta guys saying he should fight Ward now, and I'd love to see it - but a lotta (it seems like the same) people are saying he's not done anything to deserve it.

Either way, it's one to look forward to. Sanchez has already said that they're planning a move to 168 as soon as they've done all they can at 160.

This is one of those genuine big fights where I just can't read the outcome - right now I'd have to say Ward, but I'd really need to see GGG in a couple of relatively high level 168 fights first (Froch or Groves would be my ideal pick - though Bika word do nicely too).

Do you guys think breaking bhops 20 MW title defences is something in the back of ggg and his teams mind?

The dude does fight a lot and his division is super weak and he loves fighting 154 pounders. He has hbo backing too
            He has about 11 ATM.

Golovkin is only in his first pro weight class. He's fought at 165lbs in the amateurs. Like almost all champions before him did when no one in their weight class was fighting them, Golovkin has to move up a mere 8lbs and he will get the big names immediately.

Martinez had to move up 6lbs to a weight class that was basically like a small guy wearing big pants that did not fit him in his first year at MW. He finally grew into 160. Golovkin may be a small SMW but he can grow into it while getting fights like Ward, Froch, Groves, Bika, and eventually move up to his 3rd weight class and fight Kovalev, Stevenson, Pascal, Bute, Rodriguez, Dawson.

How can anyone derive that Ward is ducking from the statement GGG just made????? That's what I call the ultimate spin if there ever was one. That's like saying A doesn't want to fight B so that means B is ducking?? HUH?????

People are going to laugh that this was ever a proposition at some point. Golovkin has zero business in the ring with a fighter like Ward. Of course he don't want it.

He may not have much a choice if he can't get some fights this year. HBO wants it bad.

I haven't seen ggg fight a bigger man who can push him back.
