Then he's a light welterweight. If he's still there.

You are as good as your last fight.
Maidana dominated an undefeated young champion, dropping him twice in the process.
Khan was dropped against washed up former lightweight champion, who has done nothing above LW

"what have you done for me lately?"

The long and short of it is, an "average" run (and title win, to boot) at welterweight, is better than a stoppage loss at your last weight and a non-existent welterweight run.

You asked who deserved it more, not who might cause more problems (as someone already stated). Deserving alludes to form, not to ability. Khan might have more ability but Maidana is in better form right now. Can't say fairer than that.

            It's simple...

Khan's last 3 fights. Stopped by Danny Garcia, win over no name lightweight Molina, struggles to beat a career Lightweight who's way past his prime and at WW in Diaz.

Maidana's last 3 fights. Stopped Karass, who would go on to beat Aydin and Berto. Stopped Lopez, who the last time he was at WW had beaten Victor Ortiz. Beat up Broner, who got a decent win there over Paulie, and was a heavily favored to beat up Maidana.

Khan hasn't done jack since Judah or Peterson.

Anyone who wants to see Floyd have a easy night against Maidana is a prize prat

Khan will bring the fight to Floyd, win or lose, no easy night

Again, the thread didn't ask which opponent was stylistically harder, it asked who deserved it more.

Frankie Bruno seems like a delusional Brit. There is nothing legit or challenging about Floyd fighting Khan. Khan hasn't done ANYTHING since 2011.

The truth is Marcos Maidana isn't any more or less deserving of a Mayweather fight than Amir Khan. Neither of their resume's are comparable to the one who is truly deserving of a Floyd fight and that is Timothy Bradley; Who is currently the #3 ranked boxer on Ring's P4P list and the #1 ranked welterweight behind the current champion Floyd Mayweather.

However,at the same time I can understand why many Maidana backers believe he is more deserving of a fight against Floyd Mayweather because of his most recent win and dominating performance against a current top ten P4P fighter in Adrien Broner. While it's true that Khan has had more career defining wins against top notch competition than EL Chino, including a head to head victory over him but all of those wins were below the 147 lb division.
