Is Sergio a coward for not fighting GGG?

If Golovkin can get Martinez $5mill he would fight him.
Chavez Jr got him a good amount of money I would say around $8mill, thanks to the 500k PPV. Cotto will bring him $5mill+. Martinez also got a $5mill guarantee from the Argentine government to fight in Argentina against Murray.
Sergio has/will earn $5mill+ in each of his last 3 fights pending Cotto, I am not sure K2/Golovkin can get Martinez $5mill, and I highly doubt HBO puts up that kind of guarantee without a PPV, that will surely not do enough buys to pay Martinez upwards of $5mill while paying GGG a respectable amount.
With that said, I am not even a Martinez fan and if they fight and Martinez loses by KO, I would enjoy it. But no way in hell would I go from making $5mill+ on big stages to $2-3mill against an unknown with his best win being one of my bashed wins.Comment

Cotto turned down more money in a PAC rematch to go for a title at 154 vs Trout
JMM turned down a 5th fight with PAC to go for a title vs BradleyComment

If he is still under contract to HBO, the Mayweather fight will not happen. However, the Alvarez fight and the Chavez Jr. fight still can happen because Alvarez is not under contract with Showtime and HBO may come to their senses and agree to work with GBP again. Chavez-Vera was the highest rated fight on HBO this year, so he is still a draw. A fight with Chavez Jr. would still be a PPV event and, even if it only drew 100,000 PPV buys, he would still make three times the money he would make against GGG on regular HBO.
Chavez JR cant even make 168! this fight would be dumb for everyone involved, whos to say that he even gets by vera the second time he faces him?
a regular hbo? for the golovkin fight? He fought freaking stevens and drew 1.5 million viewers, he also drew more people in the arena than Chavez did against vera. sergio vs GGG would be a big ppv event, at least 400-500k buys and hbo would pay a lot of money for it. He will make the same as chavez if not more with gggComment

JMM already knocked out Pacquiao. His legacy does not change with another fight.Comment

Darn bro. Harsh words.
No way Sergio is a coward, nor I would call any boxer outside of the cheating coward margacheto! The definition of a coward, utilizing plaster against another boxer to gain advantage!!!!
Sergio is looking out for his future. Its not like he's fighting Khan!!! It's not like Cotto has zero chance, because I give Miguel a true 35+% of winning the fight and I'm HARDCORE King Cotto fan!!!!!!
If he ducks GGG after the Cotto fight (assuming he wins) then, it will be plain and simple: DUCK
If Cotto wins, then he'll likely fight Floyd for the Lineal MW belt and GGG will be out of luck.....but, there is one crazy chance that Miguel will give GGG a chance just because Cotto is like that and he ducks no-one!!!

Two very good points.
However, Cotto's decision to fight Trout at 154 instead of Pac 1t 150 had nothing to do with legacy. He already had the belt, so fighting Trout would do nothing for his legacy. He turned the Pacquaio fight down because he did not want to fight Pac at a catchweight again and give Pac an advantage. It was about pride, not legacy.
Good point about JMM. However, the jury is still out on that one. It could still happen.Comment
