Not that Martinez should decide not to take this fight because of something silly like who's name goes first, but how does that not hurt Cotto as well if the fight isn't signed? To my knowledge he's aiming for a middleweight belt so who else is he going to fight. GGG is not going to happen let's be real and how does beating a guy like Peter Quillin enhance his legacy?

I say, just let them gear the entire thing towards Cotto. He's still getting TV exposure, a name on his resume, and a big payday. What's there to complain about?
Why wouldn't he realise? Anyway, it's petty. Martinez should understand it's business and that's just how it works. Get the money, get the win and who cares about name first, he's the No.1 when he goes home to Argentina.

Money is t everything to all fighters. Look at the jmm PAC 5 situation

Because he wasn't held up over something this small against Chavez JR. At the end of the day, he's not gonna earn as much as he would against ANYONE else at MW as he is against Cotto. The closes person would be Golovkin and I don't even think casuals know him as well still. I hope he doesn't think he can just move on and fight another guy and make just as much. He has to submit to Cotto's demands a little, IMO he may be making this bigger than what it really is.

But Sergio for years has been calling and clamoring for a big money fight. The situation for the Pacquiao-JMM 5 fight is far different than it would be for this fight. Sergio will play ball.

****** fight for ****** people. Martinez isn't champ. he forfeited his title out of fear. now he's just a hobo with a sign that says will box for money. and he's a picky hobo as well.

Cotto can kick rocks....acting like he is calling the shots chasing after the champ's belt. You want the belt you show respect, Martinez can beat down Rubio in his tuneup fight instead of ending Cotto's career, take it or leave it.

This is what people don't want to acknowledge. They walked away fro a $10M payday with Canelo (Remember what Canelo did to Floyd when Floyd tried to dictate to him initially, he fought Trout instead out of spite alone) and if Martinez decides to fight Rubio in his comeback fight, who is "King Cotto" going to fight? Cotto doesn't have as much pull as he thinks he does....it ain't like Sergio is a pauper.

6 mill against 2 mill.......Sergio is still going to come away with a few mill in his bank account and the guy doesn't get bullied around.....he'll walk away before Cotto will. Remember, it was Cotto who turned down 10 mill in hopes of getting 15 mill against Sergio, he is the dude chasing the money it appears.
