Isn't the problem that cotto wants the figtht in an early date while martinez not until june because he's in rehab with his knee. Thats a serious injury and especially at his age. I understand he needs to be as good as he can be before wanting to fight cotto.
if he's not he could loose and make it his last chance of a big payday, so make as big as possible

Cotto doesn't have as much pull as he thinks he does....it ain't like Sergio is a pauper.
That's pretty much what I said it seems Martinez has more options at middleweight than Cotto . Its not like he's making life changing money against Cotto he gets a nice paycheck but Cotto is the one making 8 figures. There's only one lineal middleweight champ as far as I know. I don't think a fight against Quillin pulls as much attention as this one and it's not necesarrily an opponent that will enhance Cotto's legacy if he does become middleweight champ. Financially as well he goes from headlining a Ppv to regular showtime.

sure...he can go fight Veneno....and make a few 100K....lol! Or fight GGG and get 1M and his azs beaten.

Or fight Cotto, has a chance of wining and make $$$$$$!

Easy, if you ask me unless he is just scared of an inflated JW guy! lol!

Why didn't it bother Sergio that it was Chavez Jr.-Martinez last September? His complaining isn't like him and I've never heard anyone complain about negotiating with Cotto. Sergio wants the payday, he'll negotiate. Cotto made $3 M to fight Delvin Rodriguez and drew the highest TV ratings of 2013. He has many more options and isn't coming off injuries.

Sergio, why are you making this more painful? King Cotto is going to break you down eary with body work, he will crush your nose with his piston like power jab, hou will not be able to breathe.

I know, you will try and fight on the back foot, but King Cotto is a master at cutting the ring and he will catch you and make you pay.

You will try and brawl and that will be seal your fate. King Cotto will let you feel his Left hook, and you will kiss the canvas.

You will get up, try to clinch...King Cotto's ring generalship and superior foot work will fool you, he will hit you with angles and thunderous speed. His combos will hurt you, and he will finish you up with a deadly three punch combo and you will not beat the count.....7, 8, 9, 10....and the New MW Champion of the World...Miguel Angel "The King Coottooooo!!!!

More $$$ to fight Cotto and a winnable fight for Sergio. There is no other fight at MW for Sergio that fits both.

I'll respect him when he mans ups and fights Golovkin. I would even donate to his post-Golovkin surgery fund.
