Floyd made 40 million to fight victor ortiz. That fight sold 1.25 million buys, and SHO has been spending a lot more on advertising (part of the deal) than HBO did. So i would say, yes close to 1.2 million buys sounds like an accurate number. A number that many articles have referred to since the deals inception.

No no no... The ortiz bout was very very successful. I'm saying that was the purse of a profitable fight. He was gtd 25 million against ortiz, but you can see what the number of buys justifies. With Floyd's pay structure (paying gb a flat fee) on HBO, giving ortiz 3 million? or 2 million w/e it translates to a 40 million dollar purse.

Yeah but you don't know what exactly "unsuccessful" is. Or successful for that matter.

Showtime break even if he averages 1 million PPVs for his 6 fight contract. That means he has to sell 6 million units. I highly doubt Showtime are losing any money from Floyd's end because he's only four fights in.

I'm a fan of both Floyd and Manny but even if you give Floyd the worst possible projections from any source you want Floyd is the A-side, even if it's the smallest of margins.

You mentioned last ppv fight.

So i brought you both fighters last fight purse. Explained the dynamics of it.

And if mentioned the wholestic ppv numbers through out there fighting career instead, that will even show there about even in ppv earnings.

Floyd is the a-side that's for sure. However, Showtime has ceilings on how much they can make per fight. So selling 2 millions buys one fight and 0 the next is not the same as selling a million per fight over two fights. They also need more than one million buys, the number is closer to 1.2 million buys per fight.

Didn't know about the ceiling but surely with Manny in the pipeline plus a fair well fight that's going to be contract fulfilled when you crunch all the numbers up? I don't think he's a liability to Showtime however you look at it to be honest.

Outside of Floyd, they do have their problems with Haymon's under hand tactics despite Espinoza saying he was well informed. Hopefully this upcoming fight is a catalyst for getting everybody talking and doing business.

Just saw on my Facebook that TMZ is reporting the fight is done. That true?

Maybe / maybe not. Dan Rafael said "threat level orange" which is as close to done as it can get without actually being done (level red). Stephen Espinoza is saying it's not done yet.

It could be that Floyd made a big deal out of being the one to announce it, and they just don't want that spoiled so they're denying it.

I know about the wholesale numbers from what's available to the general public. Floyd just about comes out on top, even if it's the smallest of margins.
