There's only so long he's going to be able to avoid as much as he does.
Maidana will bring the fight from start to finish, with power.
Obviously I do think Mayweather wins with ease from his last fight but I think the power and aggression, something Floyd's not seen since perhaps Cotto? Although Cotto doesn't bring it for the entire fight like Maidana would.
I want to see it myself. I'd much rather if over Khan and probably anyone else right now who's ranked at WW other than Bradley.
You've gotta take into account how gassed Maidana would be. He lost steam in the 5th against Broner. Floyd's conditioning would end up being Maidanas downfall if he doesn't knock Floyd out.
Floyd-Maidana is like Hopkins-Cloud. Floyd can be ancient and clearly past it and still dominate. His technique and smarts are far too much to even be troubled.
I'm not sure at all that Maidana would bring it all 12. 7 rounds of swinging, missing, and getting countered hard would probably have him listless by the time the championship rounds arrived. I'm rather sure Floyd hits hard enough to hurt Maidana, too.
You know I'd be rooting for Maidana to win, but I can't see it, even more than Khan this is an easy fight that I have a hard time seeing Maidana posing any threat whatsoever in. This isn't revisionist, "oh Maidana's a possibility so let me hate" talk either. I made that thread a couple of weeks ago saying this about the possibility of Floyd-Maidana if Maidana beat Broner.
Not even close. Cloud is a bum. Maidana as limited as he is is absolutely worlds better than Cloud and actually has power aswell.
I know you're not revising, you're not that kind of guy.
But I think Maidana has earned his position. Last 3 fights have all been top wins and he's now a belt holder at 147.
He atleast brings power and aggression to the table something that Floyd hasn't fought in a while. I think as tired as Maidana get's he'll still bring the fight and seems to carry his power late.
He definitely should get it over Khan atleast. Yeah Khan beat him but that will have been 4 whole years ago by the time they fight. A lot's changed since then Madiana's coming off a string of impressive victories and has shown improvement with his new trainer whereas Khan is coming off 2 loss and 2 unimpressive fights with unranked guys and a lay off.
I don't see any options right now that's available and better then Maidana other than Garica who apparently doesn't want it yet.
Which again highlights how limited the options are.
Me personally, I want the Maidana fight. It makes sense to me.
They also said Foreman would destroy Ali and Buster Douglas was a 40 to 1 underdog against Tyson... That's why they fight the fights... I wish boxing from 140 to 160 would go back to the 80's and 90's when everybody fought everybody instead of fighting fight on paper and say if we fought I would have done this or that so there is no reason to fight...
Not even close. Cloud is a bum. Maidana as limited as he is is absolutely worlds better than Cloud and actually has power aswell.

I won't dispute that Maidana deserves it a whole lot more, and despite my opinion it isn't a bad fight for Floyd to take. But man would I not be interested. I could see Maidana not landing a single meaningful punch, not one.
And I wasn't comparing Maidana to Cloud as much as saying that it's a fight I would expect Floyd to win and comfortably, even if he's far past his physical best, same way Hopkins could probably beat Cloud when he's 60.

True but also he tends to carry his power late and almost always get's a second wind and comes on strong late.

Hopkins would beat Cloud when he's 70. That's how bad Cloud is.
I don't highly rate Maidana but he's a different animal to Cloud and brings a real punch. I'd still highly favour Floyd obviously and I'd expect him to dominate but at the same time I think it's a dangerous fight myself.
I can't be bad at a Unification fight either. And Maidana is one of the top contenders in Mayweather's division.
Maidana stans hyping him up cuz he beat a over hype job called Broner
Lets stick to the facts, Floyd vs Maidana is a horrible horrible mismatch, i dont care if he deserves the fight, he has nothing.
Watching him run around chasing, swinging and missing punches for 12 rounds, waiting for one lucky shot - which will never come, no thanks
Hatton tried that on Floyd and he is a 100 times better boxer than Maidana
People say Floyd will knock Khan out, Floyd will also knock Maidana out, after he is gassed. Even against Broner, Madiana was gassing, he was buzzed also. Floyd will make mince meat out of him jesus
Khan has height, reach, speed, experience, athleticism, ability and enoough power to hurt his opponents..Yes he has a dodgy chin, but facts are he's only been KO'd by two massive hitters, which Floyd isnt.
Maidana can be hurt also, maybe not like Khan, but he can be hurt, all he has is power, but Canelo also had power, look how that turned out
Maidana is no Hatton, not even close, he'll be on the backfoot soon as he tastes a right to the face, if Broner made him run, Floyd will do worse.
This is the same Maidana who was totally outclassed by Devon,

Maidana will be aggressive enough to land some shots. It'll be a much better fight than the Canelo fight. Maidana will at least take chances.
