Who is the best heavyweight of all time?

He's been called "The Greatest" and, you know what? He was. Speed, grace, a transcendent ring intelligence and miraculous resilience made Ali a legend in the ring.

ali has the best resume. i believe in my heart that no man who ever lived could beat ali in 1967. i've never seen an athlete move like that.

Why is Frazier on there and not Wladimir Klitschko?

Vitali Klitschko, barring cuts would beat any version of Ali.

          Muhammad Ali.

Not one heavyweight would have beaten Ali from 1964-1967. Plus, even if we're just talking resume, Ali's is the best hands down. Wins over 3 ATG's in Liston, Frazier, Foreman, and another win over Hall of Fame Heavyweight Floyd Patterson.

Ali beat everyone in his era, the golden era of heavyweight boxing.

Oh yea, and Whitaker and prime Roy Jones makes Ali look like Brandon Rios.

He can punch all he wants but he couldn't hurt Vitali, wouldn't out work him and was too small to avoid him for 12 rounds without losing a decision to him.
Barring a cut, Ali either gets knocked out or loses a decision.

But you can believe what you like solely based on the legend status. It's casual. It's similar to saying that Jordan is automatically better than Bryant based on merit. It may not be true but it's popular belief.

Larry Holmes. Best left Jab in the history of boxing in ANY weight. Upset Earnie Shavers (Considered hardest p4p puncher in heavyweight boxing history), Destroyed Leon Spinks, and had 20 successful title defenses and went 48-0 until he met up with Michael Spinks. Not to mention the Awesome car dropkick on Trevor Berbick By the time he fought Tyson he was already past prime.

Lennox Lewis beats everyone on that list. Maybe not the most skilled, but his size, strength, and huge reach wins the day. A good big man will usually beat a good little man.
