People care about credibility, Khan is not going to change as a fighter that much is clear but if he got a big win over a top guy even if the top guy was in his wheel house people would find that fight more appealing. That doesn't really change the fight at all in terms of who will win or who will lose but it will give the fight some curb appeal even it the foundation is obviously cracked.

Maidana is credible right now, and while I think he has honed his craft I don't think he has transcended what he was although I would say he is peaking right now with his recent results seeming to confirm that.

Floyd will outclass Maidana, but Rios is not on the same level as Maidana. Lol at looking at sparring sessions to determine how evenly matched two fighters are.

And how do you know Rios beats him up in sparring? Because Rios said so? All he actually said was his punches don't hurt him.
no doubt maidana is the more credible fight for floyd

what i was saying is that rios is better than maidana, he would beat maidana too
maidana may hit slightly harder, not by much, he doesn't have one-punch power but he can definitely hurt you with one-punch(although it doesn't happen often unless you aren't the most durable) and is very strong, but rios also more than makes up for it with constant pressure and a high workrate, and rios isn't getting hurt and pushed back by everyone or giving rounds away building his second wind

and i dont know about maidana having amuch better resume, it's about even

again, maidana is the better fight for floyd, i think it would be interesting in the first 3 rounds and the other couple that maidana has any stamina to throw and pressure(like vs broner after he saw broner wobble), i think rios is a better fighter and style-wise would be a tougher fight for floyd aslong as he actually goes in planning to pressure

How on Earth are their resumes about even? Maidana clearly has a much better resume he's much more proven both at 140 and 147.

Maidana hits much harder than Rios.

Maidana's not that good but he's much better than Rios. He's better in most area's.

Plus just looking where both guys are at, Maidana appears to be peaking while Rios looks to be on the slide. Even if they were equals which I don't think they are (I think Maidana is the better fighter) that would point to being Maidana being better at this moment in time.

Julio Diaz - the guy Khan just beat - would have beaten Adrien Broner.

Diaz drew with Shawn Porter in their first fight, and Porter just beat Alexander - it gives you a rough idea of how good Diaz actually is, he's underrated himself while Broner is overrated (although he has a lot of potential, he might improve and become a top tier figher - only time will tell.)

Watch the fight with Devon and tell me Floyd has anything to worry about.

I also watched Julio Diaz get beat up by Jose Luis Castillo and Juan Diaz plus knocked unconscious against Kendall Holt.

Diaz is rated just fine and he would lose to Broner because that is what he does he loses to top end guys, close or wide he loses at the top. Broner lost because he couldn't handle the pressure of Maidana Julio Diaz is a boxer so that would allow Broner to likely do his thing and be the aggressor.

Maidana for being limited sometimes he comes up and beats a guy you don't expect him to beat that look better then him because he has a stronger mentality.

I think its falling for the hype again by assuming that Broner is already a "top end guy" - he isn't. Many people thought he already lost to Ponce De Leon, Malignaggi (who Khan dominated very easily), Quintero, and now officially to Maidana (who Khan beat)..

It sounds like you're still caught up in the Broner hype. He definitely has potential to be a top tier fighter one day but he isn't one right now and he never has been up until this point.. So far it has all been hype, he has a lot to learn before he could genuinely be considered a top tier fighter.

A motivated and well-conditioned Diaz would beat the current version of Broner and possibly even by a wider margin than Maidana did.

He would beat a guy like Julio Diaz. I was never much on the Broner hype, he has talent but he does not take the sport seriously, when pushed in a serious way he fell to pieces. In those other fights Broner held it together and beat guys better (by a wide margin) than Julio Diaz. Diaz is not that sort of fighter at all, he boxes and with Khan's amateurish style he was able to make it much more competitive. Broner would move forward against Diaz and likely make him crack.

Khan barely beat Maidana, so for someone saying someone is caught up on past hype look in the mirror dude~
