It is a matter of time, he has had like a solid 5 year run but some loses and setbacks are mixed in.

Mayweather has had like a 15 year run and Manny about a decade if talking when he really hit the big time although you could even go back further with him also.

If Sergio had another solid 5 years to build up he might not still get to those levels he would be quite big if he could maintain a sustained level of dominance.

Paul Williams and a drunken Kelly Pavlik are his only noteworthy wins.

2 good wins out of almost 60 fights? Amazing he even made it to the HBO stage

I think people are jealous of dude or something.......it don't matter anyways. The guy chills out with Kings and Queens.....I doubt anything we say is gonna hurt his feelings.

I typed in 'Repulsive Reactions' into Google Images - I found nothing that could convey the Outright Idiocy of this statement, and as for your first about Opposition statement - You ignorant little Brain Dead simpleton - you have no idea how ****** you seem to others when you spout trash from your tiny little brain, do you?

He was on the brink when he beat Paul Williams but then came the long layoffs waiting for the big fight. After the layoffs came more time off and that led to injuries.

Spent too much time fighting in Spain/Argentina. First time he went to America he got his ass handed to him by Antonio Margarito and didn't return to America for quite some years.

Maybe your boy Broner should fight him and give him some shine since Broner is the GOAT and the cash cow.

                    1. He started too late to become a major star. Started at 20, it took him longer to figure certain things out that other guys figured out earlier. By the time we saw how exciting he could be, he had the stigma of "Old fighter, on the way out". The Margarito fight (which he wasn't ready for) also hurt his progress to the top.

                    2. Lack of recognizable opponents. After the second Williams fight and until Chavez, nobody that mattered was really at 160 to fight him, it was kind of a ghost town. He could have fought at 154, but the guys there didn't want anything to do with him (Mayweather, Cotto).

                    3. Doesn't speak English. I don't know why, but this always seems to be a big factor in a foreign fighter's American success rate.

I'm sure there are more reasons but those are enough to limit his popularity.
This sums it up. The lack of star opposition is the biggest factor in my opinion.
