Rigondeaux came to boxing to take it by force, he didnt have years to spare to beat up dozens of bums on hbo to look sensational against and get people hyped up like many "imaginary best fighters" do nowadays. He came in and tried to fight the best as soon as possible with a ridiculously low amount of pro experience, he came to conquer he made bob put Donaire in his contract or he wouldn't sign. If you ask me all this Rigondeaux talk is great everyday i see more people coming to his defense and he is getting that mistreated underdog support the worst press you can get is none at all. They will probably put him in under card his next fight which to me is the right move, but after that he is a free agent again.

He is a victim of his own fast success as a fighter because if a loved recognized fighter would have done what he has done what he has achieved in the same fashion everyone would be licking his taint, but eventually he will get people's attention he was just too good too fast for casual fans to build a relationship. This guy has quite a few years left precisely because of how low mileage he has, and all he needs to do is kee winning if anything people love more than to hate and talk **** is a winner a guy who never looses, because then they start watching to see if you can be beat .

If you are a master writer or artist, but the public don't understand or appreciate your work, you can't be locked in your ivory tower thinking everybody is wrong but you. If you are really a master, you are able to change and adapt your work to the public tastes.

Rigo is just as boring as Floyd. But because Floyd has a mouth we PAY to see him fight. And HBO is now reluctant to put Rigo on tv for free. Smh and they're more entertaining then Ward who HBO has been sucking off as of late.

Well at least he actually throws punches and is more exciting than the crowd pleasing performances of Wladimir Klitschko who hardly throws any punches at all and is rather content with clinching and holding while laying on the back of his opponent's necks.

Not necessarily so. Many masters of their craft, from different fields, were unappreciated in their time. Van Gogh was the proverbial starving artist; but his work now commands millions, although Vincent died long ago. Muhammad Ali is revered today, but his "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee" style (along with his trash-talk) earned him a lot of scorn back in the day.

I believe Rigo has the ability to turn it up a notch. I've seen him do it. But he'll never stray far from his natural tendencies. He's done it for too long, and it's won him everything he has. Whether he decides to adjust or not, I believe Guillermo will one day be appreciated much more than he is now. History tends to repeat itself.

You're right, but Klitschko is rarely on US TV, and HW is way more popular than 122, especially with the casuals who make up the numbers. Klitschko is even on talk shows, and a minor celeb with his chick and all.

He just needs the right dance partner.

A fight against lomachenko would be perfect with zou shimming on the undercard in Macau.

Failing that he can move up for Mikey garcia or Gamboa.

But this is America baby, if you want to fight on HBO and "me speak no English", then you better get used to being the B-side in any future promotion if you do headline.

For as much as people talk about Rigo's style being "boring," perhaps the greatest single hurdle to his popularity is his size. These little guys get no love to begin with. If they happen to have an unpopular style, forget it. If Guillermo was at least a welterweight, he would command more interest. But the fact that we're talking about him so much is an indication that "El Chacal" is perhaps more interesting than we now realize.
