I'm finally glad HBO saw the light. Max Kellerman and the rest of you fan boys can go watch your god on some late night telemundo stream now.
HBO Sports President Talks Rigondeaux

I hope he doesn't sign an extension with TR if he does he will most likely fight on HBO PPV undercards.
I think he needs to go to GBP where they have a lot more options for him from 122 to 126.
I like watching him fight but I do understand what the HBO Prez means.Comment

As much as boxing perspective is concerned rigo will always be on mention.
But the thing is, business is business and HBO can't tolerate the rating that Rigo is giving them.
Casual fans of the sport are mostly blood ghouls.
Just think of a boxing match with both Boxers are purist, the hell it would turn out this casual fans sleeping.

If Arum so much as made a new offer, it would be the height of hypocrisy. After all he's said about Guillermo, he just has to let Rigondeaux go.
Guille's future is real hazy right now. He won't be fighting on HBO, his TR contract is about to expire and it's not certain that GBP will pick him up. We could be seeing Rigo on FNF, or fighting out of Europe.Comment

I really do hope GBP picks him up. He is way to good to be on FNF.If Arum so much as made a new offer, it would be the height of hypocrisy. After all he's said about Guillermo, he just has to let Rigondeaux go.

But man, he didn't wanna fight Avalos on HBO undercard for 350k. He's not getting 1/10 that on those channels. His best bet is to swallow a little pride and fight on PPV undercards for 300k, or try his luck with GBP. Though he should think hard about it:
Golden Boy Promotions CEO, Richard Schaefer, admits that junior middleweight contender Erislandy Lara (18-1, 12KOs), because of his style is a tough sell for the fans and the cable networks. On Saturday night at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California - Lara survived two knockdowns to stop fan favorite Alfredo Angulo in the tenth round after one of his punches potentally broke Angulo orbital bone of his left eye. The win was impressive, but Lara - like his talented Cuban counterparts Yuriorkis Gamboa and Guillermo Rigondeaux, present a technical style of boxing that most fight fans do not appreciate.
"I think TV networks, at least Showtime, is rewarding excitement as well. When you see a fight like a Rignodeaux or a Gamboa - they don't have very crowd pleasing styles. And I think as a result it makes them much more difficulty to sell, and it has nothing to do with promoting."Comment

Totally agree, he's crazy for turning that down because Avalos is an ESPN-level opponent. The fact that he could've had that bout on HBO shows that Arum is at least trying. You got 3G making 300-400k per fight, why shouldn't Rigo? But man, he didn't wanna fight Avalos on HBO undercard for 350k. He's not getting 1/10 that on those channels.
