People saying Broner lost because he didn't take boxing seriously

This is the difference between then and now. Physical training is part of it. It is what you have to do on a basic level to compete. The training is technique, learning angles, footwork, the ins and out, Bronner obviously does nothing of this sort..want proof? Look at how he fought against Daniel Ponce. He lost that fight for all practical purposes and tried the same **** against madiena.Comment

he's also programmed to repeat the phrase "nobody works harder than me" like a mantra because, you know, that's what floyd mayweather does. i'm not saying he doesn't work hard, but i do question whether he knows what it means to do a real, start-to-finish championship caliber training camp. can't judge much from videos of sparring sessions, but the few of his i've seen looked like a complete joke.Comment

The problem with Broner is that he had absolutely no business in the ring with a man like Maidana, owning 3 world titles and labelled as the next ppv star. He believed the hype, (a lot of people did actually), but not I. I knew Maidana would pound some sense into him/them and he did. Broner is nothing more than a contender in reality.Comment

AB was not KTFO during the first half of the fight. And when he was KD, he got back up on shaky legs and continued on. He didn't take a dive nor did he quit on his stool. In fact, he started to rally back from the 3rd round on and probably had Maidana wondering what kept him up after those big shots landed.
What got Broner in trouble was Maidana's will to keep the momentum going when he had Broner hurt early. He didn't let up. He attacked Broner and simply overwhelmed him with a barrage of, not only punches, but a combination of punches which kept AB hurt, guessing, and befuddled.
Maidana capitalized big on a brief opening in AB's defense and kept chopping away and earned AB's and everyone's respect.
That was a huge learning lesson for AB. he can't be counted out yet.
If a rematch is made, AB will have to prove it wasn't a fluke and that Maidana simply had a great night.
Time will tell.Comment

I'm fat and out of shape, thanks to a lot of weed, good home cooking and kids. That being said, some nerd who ran cross country in high school and runs every day is in way better shape than I am, but I know for a fact that I would more than likely kick their ass in basketball, soccer, baseball or boxing just because I've done those the majority of my life and I am good at them. My talent is able to overcome my lack of physical conditioning at the moment. Broner is the exact opposite at the moment, he has all the charisma, work ethic and polarizing personality that Floyd has, but he doesn't have the skills nowhere close, and never will.Comment

I think boxing is his life so he trains hard. He did not fight that poorly and he is a good fighter but not as good as he thinks he is. Some fighters have a low work rated even when they train hard. I think Broner does too much heavy weight lifting and he is somewhat muscle bound.Comment

It was all mental in my opinion. Broner kept trying to get in his "comfort zone" after he landed a few shots and Maidana would just throw a combination that would offset him. He went into the fight thinking, I'm gonna destroy this guy, It's gonna be worse then Floyd-Gatti. He should have been mentally preparing himself to take those big shots. If he had of just gone to war with Maidana he would have won. Ah well every boxer deserves a second chance.Comment
