regardless, what he did was impressive.. mexico doesnt even have 5 division champion.. manny is 8 division champion.. you can say 7 because i think the 154 was at catchweight..

Is that supposed to mean something? He made the weight. And most of his opponents were basically the same size as him, so it doesn't matter.

So, basically he was a kid fighting grown men. That's bad ass.

Pac was massive in the lower weights and used to struggle to make weight apparently, i think alvarez is similar, hes meant to be between 165-170 on fight night, considering his age and the fact he made 152 recently. i think he could potentially win titles in quite a few weightclasses.

as a fighter though hes nothing like pac, its incredibly to see him KO cotto and hatton, he had incredibly power and seemed to be able to take a lot of punches. now hes definatly faded though now, his KO power isnt what it used to be (hasnt been for a while) i think if he could make 140 he'd dominate but at 147 and 154 he hasnt got the comparable power to stop people as he could. hes starting to look a bit worn now, but back in 08,09 he looked scary. its a shame we never saw Floyd v pac 4 years ago, would of been much closer than if it happened anytime soon.
            ???

Pacquiao is no way a big Welter. Floyd isn't a big Welterweight, and Pacquiao is even smaller.... i'm pretty sure Pacquiao would be at 140 if it was the glamour division, perhaps similar to what Broner could have done.

this is bull shit. he made the weight. doesnt matter what his night of fight weight is..

floyd fans always say dela hoya was weight drained when he pacquiao.. you can argue pacquaio was weight drained during those fights but he still won..

Whilst I give every credit for Jones HW title, i think is more comparable to Pacquiao's "run" at 154, i.e only went there once.

Pacquiao's run at 147 is much like Jones at 175, but even here the comparisons dont fit greatly

But if anything, you're comparing two legendary fighters....showing enough credit to them both
no way can you compare mannys run at 147 to roys at 175..roy won all the titles at 175 and was the man...manny fought 1 champ at 147 and after that never faced a top ww again

How legitimate do you consider pacs titles to be? from memory didnt he fight for a lot of vacant championships? i.e he moved up had 1 fight for a vacant championship and left the division, how many times did he actually fight the champion? and how many times did he fight the strongest champion in the weight class? im sure i looked this up once and it made the impressive 8 different weight classes look much less impressive?

so does the legitimacy of his wins to becom champion count? or is that irrelevent and saying champion in 8 different weight classes is enough?

Manny has won me alot of money of the years and has put on some great and entertaining fights. Some of the best since the Sugar, Hagler, Duran, and Hern's days.

He's a true boxing champ. Loses or not. He has taken on risky fights and paid for it. He accept the chanllenges and that's why I give him credit. A humble person both in and out of ring, loyal, and good for boxing. ATG for sure.
