Garcia sonned him put him on his but and broke his face. He's a solid/good fighter with power and that's it. Dude is the epitome of a hype job. Wake me up if/when Lucas does something noteworthy in the sport of boxing.

So which one is it? Is he a solid/good fighter with power or is he just a hype job? You can't have it both ways you idiot.

His chin wasn't a question to me, I could see he had a solid chin.

His defense and just overall skills is what I wasn't expecting.

matthysse wasn't a "hype job." he was the second best junior welterweight on the planet when he fought danny garcia.

you don't need to be a great boxer, or even all that hard to hit, to win a professional boxing match. it's not good for your career to take punishment, but it doesn't always mean you lose.

give me a great chin over all other attributes in a boxer, including power, speed, or boxing skills. almost all of the guys who get to the top and stay there have good to great chins.
He certainly was a hype job on NSB. Do I need to go back and bump all those old threads. You would have thought he was the 2nd coming of Aaron Pryor.

i'm not going to waste time getting into a discussion of semantics.
matthysse had "hype." so do a lot of fighters.

he was not a fabrication of hype. NSB ****riders don't knock lamont peterson out in three rounds for you. a very good fighter with knockout power does that.

Most people remember this. It's just a few people who are needling Matthysse fans who deny otherwise, and a few delusional haters.

Anyone who's 'cool' on an Internet forum is at best on some Special Olympics level of cool I'm afraid.

It's so funny how posters bring up the likes of Alexander and Judah, like they're some murderers row. Alexander was dominated by Kotelnik and has never been that good. Kotelnik beat Alexander MUCH more decisively than Matthysse. Judah has lost just about every big fight of his career. Big whoop that's sooo impressive

You're probably right saying that Maidana has a better resume I agree with that. But Lucas is a good fighter not great but he's a humble guy who trains hard and basically lives boxing and has the ability to make fights exciting. I don't care if hes not some great fighter I like the guy
