I think considering the guys that Peterson has fought up to this point and how Matthysee dispatched of him unlike anyone else show's he's a top fighter with legit power.

    I didn't say he's a great fighter but he's definitely a good fighter.

Danny clearly won and proved to be the better fighter. My eyes don't deceive me. I could careless about Broner. Maidana has a MUCH better resume than Matthysse.

like all the other over hyped fighters that the NSB community build up cuz they wanna act all cool like they know this underground fighter before the masses do. Austin Trout was another one.

I like Matthysse. Anybody can be criticized but is it fair. I think he's a good fighter and his story isn't completed yet. He still has time to accomplish much more.

He wiped out a good fighter in Peterson. I think that is his most impressive win to date. He's proven that he is one of the best JWW's in the world.

A fighters power can only take them so far and that's when actual boxing skills need to come into play, when power isn't getting the job done.

guys with enough power to knock you out with either hand, who can take your own gas and come forward, are a very tough go. they can often get by their limitations while they're young. they're also extremely exciting.

matthysse wasn't a "hype job." he was the second best junior welterweight on the planet when he fought danny garcia.

you don't need to be a great boxer, or even all that hard to hit, to win a professional boxing match. it's not good for your career to take punishment, but it doesn't always mean you lose.

give me a great chin over all other attributes in a boxer, including power, speed, or boxing skills. almost all of the guys who get to the top and stay there have good to great chins.

I would say he's a good fighter who's received undeserved hype. He needs to rack up some wins and put some good names on his pathetic resume. Douglas KO Tyson, one win is not enough to make a career. It's not like Peterson was some P4P fighter who was on a rampage.

Boxing fans are funny as hell:

                One day its:

"Danny Garcia is fighter of the year. He had the toughest road in boxing this year and came out on top"

                Then its:

"Lucas Matthysse is an overrated bum hypejob"

So how can you be fighter of the year when your best win is an overrated bum hype job? LOL GTFOH.

that's part of it, but they also identify with the unheralded fighters. they "hype" underdogs because they're underdogs themselves.

they resent the successes of fighters.

Garcia-Matthysse said much more about Danny being better and more skilled than the boxing world gave him credit for than it did about Matthysse. Lucas fought his fight, Danny just moved and took his punches far better than most expected.

he nearly knocked that eye out of the back of matthysse skull to boot.

and he also dropped the big bad wolf.
