Marquez is in his 40s and is a little overrated, and only because he knocked Pacquiao out. He's only impressive against come forward fighters.. he just doesn't have the skillset to be competitive against the best fighters of other styles, and he's too small to fight at 147. It was no surprise to anybody that Pac was going in for the KO. When you give a career counter puncher who's had 10 years and 40 rounds to set you up as many opportunities as Pacquiao has given him, then a perfectly landed shot is inevitable. Who else has Marquez beat except Pacquiao? His second best win is a shot Barrera, and a lot of people though Barrera won. Marquez is a One-Trick pony who is only effective against aggressive styles. He can't create his own offense effectively.
Marquez would lose to all the top welterweights, and Provodnikov isn't that good. The Alvarado fight was a decent win, but Rios already gave Alvarado the fight of his life twice in a row. After what he went through, it wasn't a surprise Alvarado didn't have much left.
Canelo's ONLY legitamate win is Trout. That's literally the only good win he has. He's 23 years old and I'm not hating, but he looked drained. I know that's what all the floyd haters say. But what can I say. I have eyes, and Canelo looked drained. That's all there is to it.
I'm not saying it because I'm a Floyd hater, I'm saying it because Canelo looked Weight-Drained. He put on 17 pounds in the fight against trout, that means his natural weight is around 170. Taking away 2 pounds against a guy who's already cutting too much weight is the very definition of weight draining.Last edited by DARKSEID; 12-16-2013, 03:48 PM.

If anyone other then Mayweather fought a Top ranked WW to win the vacant lineal 147 title, then moved up to fight the #1 154 fighter to win the lineal title, all the while only losing like 2-3 rounds, it'd be a slam dunk.
Had Rigondeaux not fought a pointless and irrelevant Agbeko, it'd be him hands down. BUt Agbeko was pointless.

Floyd UD'd Guerrero whose best win at 147 was...wait for it...Andre Berto who just lost via KO to Karass.
Floyd UD'd Canelo whose only real win was...wait for it...Austin Trout (disputed) who just lost to Lara.
Stevenson KO'd Ring champ Dawson whose best win was atg Bernard Hopkins.
Stevenson TKO'd IBF champ Cloud whose best win was Glen Johnson
Stevenson KO'd #6 Bellew whose best win was #7 Isaac Chilemba
Stevenson avenged a KO defeat by stopping Darnell Boone in 6 rounds
This guy is running through the best in the division (three top 6 opponents incl. the champ) and you want to give the award to Mayweather for beating a blown up lightweight and a guy with no resume.Last edited by Weebler I; 12-16-2013, 11:50 PM.

To each it's own,I have my 3 guy..TBH there really is no wrong answer to this question anyway..Based on legacy I have to give this yr to May Bradley and Garcia tho..They really put them self's in a different class this yr..
