It's WARdana and it's not close. Two FOTY candidates in one year?

    Rigo would be my second.

No one had a year like Rigondeaux and Bradley. One of them should be the FOTY.
      I agree with this..

I know you're not comparing Bradley's narrow ho-hum victory over Marquez to Rigo's utter schooling and outclassing of Donaire? B1tch please.

Rigo made a pound-for-pound top 5 rated guy look like a complete mug. It's better than what anyone has done this year.

Mayweather and Garcia would be my runners up.

Maidana is killing it... but I don't get how - Broner is a good win but Lopez isn't exactly fighter of the year material.

I was choosing between Garcia, Rigo and Stevenson.

I took Rigo out because of Agbeko wasn't really competition.

Garcia has Lucas and Judah which is two good wins... but Stevenson has 4 dominating performances so i'd go for him

Rigo doesn't deserve it....you aren't a fighter of the year when 30 people show up to your f-... wait scratch that, when there are close to 1,000 in attendance and only 30 remain for your fight when it's supposed to be the main event.

So now you gotta be a reality tv hoe to be fighter of the year? Gtfoh you should be a Broner fan he is the opposite of Rigo in all aspects all hype no p4p skills.

Maidana shouldn't even count people are just feeling overwhelming feeling of gratitude right now lol.

The fact that there's so many realistic possibilities for FOTY solidifies how successful 2013 was.

It depends how you define your criteria for fighter of the year. Some might include the transcendence of the in-ring activity, some might base it on the accomplishments, or you could even grab one moment that of excitement that could be above and beyond.

It's a tough pick because Kovalev and Golovkin have 4 wins, but lack the big trophy wins. Their biggest wins were Cleverly and Macklin respectively, which aren't bad.

Then you have Garcia, Rigo, and Bradley each with 1 very strong name on their list of wins for the year. With Rigo having the best win out of anyone in boxing this year for beating Donaire the way he did; outclassing a top 5 pound for pound fighter like it was nothing, with the small hiccup of being sent to the canvas.

Mayweather brought the most attention to the sport, generating the most money, publicity, and viewership. With good wins over Guerrero and Alvarez with relative ease.

And last but not least, what Marcos Maidana did Saturday night was not expected by most, but wished for by almost all. His win over Broner was triumphant in a way that is comparable to moments in history that bring people together that would have not been for any other reason. That win restored my faith and fandom in the sport that had been diminishing with each and every bad decision, boring fight, failed negotiation, etc. This win breathed new life into the hardcore fan base of the sport and has this forum (since the honor here is "Boxingscene Fighter of the Year") put everything on hold to bask in the glory of the ultimate moment of unity amongst fans worldwide waiting for this moment that someone would shut Adrien Broner the **** up.

I'd assume the pick was for performance/accomplishments...so I went ahead and chose Kovalev.

Voted for Garcia though there are many deserving candidates. Mayweather will likely win it though, because giving it to a May/Pac star type garners the sport more attention.
