It takes a whole lot of mental fortitude discipline and character to do that. I'm not saying broner isn't athletic or has a skill set but his biggest weakness is his character. It's that little guy in the back of your head telling you what to do with your life and believe it or not it shows in the ring. How you can take sacrifices, handle losses, diet properly when your not fighting etc.. Broner got beat down tore up hurt and completely walked through last night. AB got humiliated and humbled on the grand stage for the whole world to see last night. His one moment for me to see that he had some character left (or started growing some )and that he was going to make this a great learning experience he blew by running out and not doing a post fight interview. A loss like this takes a big chunk out of you. When manny got ko I knew it was a lucky punch but I also knew he had the mental toughness to bounce back. Does anyone see that in broner?

AB always said when he gets pushed we will see another side of him. I saw none of that last night no footwork he claimed to have and a mediocre Floyd imitation that he either needs to go to the mayweather boxing club and learn properly or ditch all together and get back to his fighting style thts natural to him. When the poop hit the fan for him you never saw him shell up every time he got caught is when he was trying to look like Floyd. Only time he won rounds is when he dug deep and fought like he does naturally and coming at you. But by the time he adjusted in round 5 it was too late. He already took a beating been knocked down and gone mentally.

AB looked good physically at this weight I must say. But sucking weight and beating little guys masked a lot of problems masked problems for him. I don't think he should move down in weight because it's the easy way out. Rathar see him develop a skill set so if he ever is pushed he can fall back on that.

My tips for here on out.
The media is going to crucify you and you will be the laughing stock of boxing for a long time character development is needed to handle that. Please learn some.

Make a decision of either trying to master the mayweather shell and developing footwork . Or by expanding and doing what is natural to you.

Stop trying to be a rapper. Your most successful at boxing which gives you your fame in the first place go back and give it 100% and stop treating it like a part time job. The whole time he was on tour Maidiana was in the gym and it showed.

I hope Broner can bounce back from this and I actually pray his jaw wasn't broken.

But I'm a realist and I don't see him making a successful come back. Does anyone else feel like this too?
FFS what makes you think he doesn't have the mental fortitude to bounce back from this loss?

He made it through twelve, I was actually surprised he didn't go on the back foot and pot shot to a decision. He was still trying to walk Maidana down.

I personally hope this doesn't change his thinking into a safety first fighter, even though he lost it was still an entertaining fight. He's got the talent to bounce back from this, but we still need to see. Hope he gets his rematch.

Floyd acts like an idiot sometimes and says some dumb stuff outside the ring at times, but he's 150% focused on the task at hand in the ring. That's why he's the best fighter of his time.

Broner displays no footwork, has a terribly low work rate, and can't adjust beyond Plan A.
That decision stunk, he clearly lost 6 rounds to 4.

One loss doesn't make a boxer a bum fighter. There are a lot of fighters on the current P4P list with multiple losses on their records: Such as Marquez, Martinez, Klitschko and even Manny Pacquiao with Adrien Broner being no exception. He will be back. He just underestimated Maidana by taking him lightly and he paid dearly for it. Maidana was very focused, prepared and determined for this fight and it showed. It was a victory well deserved for him.

From my observation, Adrien fought the wrong fight strategically against El Chino. He basically fought a flat-footed bout the entire night against him and it backfired. Marcos is a huge puncher/slugger and Broner made it very easy for him to hit because he wasn't moving his feet.

Lastly, Broner lacks the size and power at 147 to walk down and back up naturally larger opponents with power; As was evidenced against El Chino. He allowed the much larger and slower Marcos to constantly beat him to punch which was a mistake. In order for Adrien Broner to be successful at this higher weight class, he is going to have to rely more on speed and combination punching and less on punching power as he had done previously at the lower weight classes.

I think GBP and Showtime will back off with their support for him too. I think greater men than him would struggle to come back from this. It was a monumental defeat.

I mean, he could come back humbled, renewed, work on his craft, drop the rapping/partying/****ing......but has anything so far shown he is emotionally stable enough to do that?

Even from the first pre-fight conference, he looked bloated and hung-over. It looked like the wheels have been coming off for a while.
Schaefer, Watson and Hopkins looked really disappointed in him, the look on Broner's face was telling.

I normally hate that word when it comes to fighter losing his first fight or looking terrible in a win but I will agree with this one. Maidana's win is still not even close to discredited he was superb.

Chino was hurt by an illegal punch after the bell with his guard down. The ref was disgustingly for Broner in that fight. Should have took a point from broner too. For what? Take your pick. Forearms, pushing the head down, or hitting after the bell.

But we all do it. I fell in love with JUan Ma. I swear watching him come up. Looked like a pint sized Joe Louis doing what those in the midget divisions never can seem to get right, i.e. knocking out opponents! It is part of boxing's morality play....But alas of all the hype and circumstance VERY FEW become really great fighters and OF THAT group at least half get weeded out for the wrong reasons....guys like Witherspoon, MCcall....a guy who was so feared at the gym people treated him like a champ, Ike Ibeuchi etc.

Whats the moral of the story? When you see a Floyd or Pac show a little respect, they are a true rarity.
Yup. And that's why they should fight. It's a rarity to get a hold of 2 gems fighting it out. It will be epic.

Those boxers on p4p have multilpe losses usually to other atg and greats. Broner hasn't fought great caliber fighters yet

I really liked Broner when I first saw him at 130, fast hands, good counters and solid power, a few technical flaws though which he never addressed and then he got caught up in his own hype and went downhill. Time to go back to the drawing board and focus on boxing, not rapping or being about billions lmfao
