I'm not going to comment on the fight itself but I'll say this: Ike Ibeabuchi, although he never won a major belt, will be higher thought of than either Klitschko brother who HAVE won belts. Both Klitschko's have failed in one way or another, where as Ike never had the chance to prove himself further.

I'm not hating, I'm just being real.

lofl! seriously, you can't be serious.

maybe you are not hating, but the fact is you definitely sound like it.

thought of as a higher what? one is an olympic gold medalist. one is a former kickboxing champion with multiple titles. both have college degrees and speak multiple languages. both have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to charities. both have held numerous titles. both have some of the highest ko ratios of any heavyweight documented. both have never been outboxed in any fight lasting more than 2 rounds. both have excellent records.

maybe you should clarify on what you mean by "higher thought of."

if becoming the heavyweight champion is failure, i would like to know what success is.

I think you're in a corner here Paul.

It's okay I like you more since you started showing emotion in your posting. Everyone has a bit of hate and sometimes it gets projected onto athletes. There are some I hate, even though I don't know them and it's not reasonable to hate them. You hate the Klits and have trouble accepting their dominance. It is what it is Paul no big deal at all. But you don't need to deny it.

They've both failed when the going has got tough, it's as simple as that. Vitali will be known as the guy who quit against Byrd and couldn't quite beat Lennox and Wladimir as the guy blown out of the water by sanders and losing to Brewster and Puritty. Ibeabuchi will be looked upon much more favorably because he was a young guy with a huge amount of talent who had beaten two guys in their primes and shown very few weaknesses such as a potentially weak chin, ability to cut, stamina, none of those things.

The klitschkos have not had a defining win. Wins over Kirk Johnson and Danny Williams or Calvin Brock are not defining wins. Slugfests which hold the record for punch outputs are. So are wins against a prime Byrd [Ike stopped a prime Byrd quicker than Wlad could a shot one]. I cannot sit here and watch Klitschko fanboys pretend these guys are the modern day Foreman's and Ali's when they're not even the best of a bad bunch yet. If I run the risk of being called a hater, then so be it.

Wladimir still has not succeeded. So what if he won a belt. So has Ibragimov, Chagaev, Ruiz, Valuev, Byrd, Maskaev, Briggs, Liakhovich, Brewster, Sanders, Vitali, Rahman, etc. If winning a belt in post-Lennox heavyweight land is considered a success, then we have fallen on the dark ages of boxing no doubt. I wouldn't consider any of these guys successes in any sense of the word. Unify the belts and we'll start talking. But even then, unifying against THIS list of guys...not exactly stellar.

yeah, i always hear about vitali quitting against byrd.

retiring because you have a shoulder injury and the doctor recommends that you do so is considered smart. why is having intelligence frowned on in boxing? and how you going to hate on him in his fight with lewis? your ridiculous.

Wladimir as the guy blown out of the water by sanders and losing to Brewster and Puritty
a ko to sanders. nothing to dwell on - unless your a hater. i recall great heavies like foreman, ali, and lewis getting ko'd as well. your point is nullified.

having potential does not make a career.

get the f outta here with that defining win ****. you really think byrd was in his prime one year and not the next. you are really searching for answers. accept it - there are none that will not make you sound like you know nothing about boxing.

you don't run the risk of being called a hater, because you ARE one. that is nothing to be proud of.

Between both Klitschko brothers, they have no stellar wins. We can all agree on that much.

And also Byrd made Holyfield dislocate his shoulder just like he did Vitali. I say "made him dislocate" because it's happened to several Byrd opponents. Too many to be considered a coincidence. Holyfield was down on the cards and didn't quit. Vitali was way ahead and gave up when the going got tough.
