I don't even consider it a risk. They put a couple of other Cubans on the card, maybe Gamboa and Santana, and round it out with a few other guys from Latin America, and it's bound to sell out a decent size arena. That card would be sooo easy to promote. I agree that Cubans don't support their fighters like Mexicans and Puerto Ricans do, but they haven't had the same opportunities. You bring that card to them (South Florida) and appeal to some other nationalities in the process, and you've got a guaranteed winner.

Good morning, ignorant fan and everyday sucker here. How the **** are you? Personally, I don't enjoy 'masterful' performances' against cardboard cut-outs. I'd just like to see someone give the little fencer a few smacks to get the feeling that there's a fight going on.....Comment

You're right. The lifeblood of boxing is the casual fanbase. I think most people that go to the fights know maybe one of the fighters on the card. Most people just go to watch a few guys beat each others brains out. The moment they see a guy who doesn't mix it up, no matter how masterful, they lose interest. I don't even know why they bother.Comment

I'll be right there with you!!!I've been wondering about this since the Agbeko fight. What will Arum do when his contract with Rigo is up? After all the shit Bob has said about his own fighter, he'd look like a major hypocrite if he re-upped with Guille.
If a Rigo fight goes down in Miami in March (like they've said), I'll be there along with a few guys from this forum. I would be willing to bet real money that whatever venue they choose will be packed. It would make Arum think real hard about his future with "El Chacal."

lamos head would go flying...........you would have to be a hardcore die hard lomachenko fan to believe he would have any chance in that fight.

Boxing appeals to our tribal instincts. You gather to watch the warrior from your tribe(say,Mexican) against the warrior from another 'tribe'(say P.R.). Along with warfare come camp followers(casuals), and of course the usual contingent of wise men, who always seem to forget that once, long ago, they had been camp followers too. Don't we all learn as we go?You're right. The lifeblood of boxing is the casual fanbase. I think most people that go to the fights know maybe one of the fighters on the card. The good thing for Lomachenko is he controls his own destiny. Sounds impossible but if he beats Salido in second fight.... Then rigo in lets say 5th? Fight.... He's surpassed an ATG pace and is on GOAT pace.
