Toney is a top 5 HW at the moment. None of the heavyweights are overly impressive and few have high caliber wins over more than a couple fighters. Despite Toney's accomplishments not being overly spectacular at HW, when moving up in weight it's always been a rule of thumb to rank them high up. His accomplishments at cruiser count for a lot more in the HW division than getting 20 wins over ridiculously ****ty HW's.
...Gomez, this is a very good post and a solid opinion of the current state. Thank you for not sucking Toney's **** and proclaiming him the greatest heavy since Ali.
How would it ****ing not be? Every fighter in the past decade who has done very well in their weight class and moved up 1 weight class has been able to bipass fighting 10 ****ty fights to get a title shot... hence having them ranked fairly high off the bat... also hence the reason people will move up and immediately fight a belt holder or 1 contendor, then for the belt.
Fighters like who? Roy Jones? What about Floyd Mayweather? Enlighten me how he was ranked when he first entered 140. What about Gatti when he moved up to 147.

You sir, are a complete moron. Sound familiar?
I honestly can't believe you want me to back this up. I will list 5 big name fighters who in recent years have gotten title shots immediately or almost immediately when moving up in weight classes just to prove you're a moron.
Oscar De La Hoya, Manny Pacquiao, Tito Trinidad, Diego Corrales, and despite your hatered for him; PBF.
