The fights floyd has his most problems in are not so much lefties as they are the first time he fights at the weight. Corley, like Castillo, was floyd's 1st fight at that weight. Perhaps that played as much a role in the "problems" as the style. Judah was the 1st or 2nd fight at 147. ODH, his 1st at 154.

I agree that Lara has the attributes to give floyd a tough fight and very well could beat him. I just think the notion floyd has "problems" with southpaws has been exaggerated.
They all clearly lost but they had their moments and for me I felt Judah looked superb until he slowed down.
I don't think its southpaws just certain style of southpaw though Corley from what I remember was quite aggressive for most part.
The weight is a good point, maybe that did have something to do with it and it took him time to adjust.

I definitely feel he has the attributes to push Floyd as good as anybody in the sport right now.
I like Floyd I just struggle massively to give him credit for guys who I feel are just made to make him look amazing. I think the guy beats anybody - Not so sure about Lara but his unwillingness to fight certain guys does my head in.
I have no doubt if he fought these guys people claim he is ducking he would easily beat them. I've just neverstood why he doesn't seemingly want to prove that without any shadow of a doubt he is the best and one of the best ever. His skill level is off the charts he just seems hesitant to fight certain fighters I personally have no doubt he beats.
I really want to see him fight Lara and prove me wrong. I am not saying Floyd can't win that fight but its one that I think is a horrible style match up for him & I'd love to see what he could do in there.

Yes Bradley, Lara, Pac and Maidana = everyone in history.

Why do I even bother. "Arse"

      • Mayweather has Maidana on his plate. Let's see him get past Chino before you start trying to feed him other names.

Yeah but Pacquiao = Maidana though. Lara = Maidana.

            Keep gnawing on Floyd's scrotum.

Pacquiao has no shot at beating Floyd.

Guess what? Neither does Khan, Bradley or Lara. Sorry.

Grow up. "arse lickng" "scrotum". Yawn.

              • This is almost as bad as when they tried to say that Baldomir was the same as Margarito

                Fantasy wins = real wins

I guess it depends what you class as a volume puncher. He averaged around 65-70 per round against Berto and as high as a 100 in a few, well above the welterweight average.

And I don't think anybody has ever thrown 80+ punches a round against Floyd or at least been able to maintain it.

These guys are capable of that but when you've got a Floyd, B-Hop, Lara, Rigondeaux, Ward in front of you moving, now allowed you to set, feinting and nailing you with precise counters, they become hesitant.

That doesn't mean the level of challenge is the same. I guess the Guerrerro/ Canelo fights glossed over the fact that a well past his prime Cotto roughed Mayweather up

Keep fighting them slow brawlers Floyd, your fantards will eat it up.

They say jabbing ands outhpaws are the key to beating foyd's style. That he goes to a weight class and fights the "style" that is most difficult in the first fight at the weight could make all the rest of the fights easier.

I think we all know the real reasons why certain fights haven't happened. If the end results of these fights not happening is it reduces floyd's legacy in people's minds-so be it. I can't change how you feel-I just wonder where you and others would see floyd had a prime ODH, shane, manny or cotto fought him rather than choosing to wait until later in their careers.

I don't know that floyd can prove that. I don't know if beating Lara fits in this equation but it would present an interesting challenge.
