But you forget. Trout has the better jab than Floyd.
Floyd's really not that much quicker, feet wise than Trout at 154. He's a wading fighter at 154. His upper body is still quick, but it's gonna be a battle of foot work. Who can get in and out on the other man?
Lara's reach also plays a huge role, since he's a slickster with that reach.
How does Trout have a better jab than Floyd? Have you seen his last two fights? Trout was unable to land the jab on Canelo or Lara. He doesn't throw it with any authority. He doesn't even use it well as a range finder. Trout also lacks the proper spacing when throwing the jab. He always throws it from too far away where it is uneffective.
It easy to see the difference in the Floyd/Canelo fight. Floyd's spacing was perfect so he could land the jab consistently and avoid Canelo's punches. He also uses it well as a range finder.
Trout having a better jab is a big misconception. I would say it's average at best.
anyone against this fight, is not a boxing fan. spare me the excuse Floyd only fights at 154 for money. He has 3 fights there, is a 2 time divisional titlist, he's a Jr middleweight. Save the excuse that Lara isn't a name. Ortiz and Guerrero are not name fighters and Floyd and his fans had no problem with those fights. According to Floyd's fans, Floyd is the ppv king on his name only and sells 2 mil based on his name. take the fight Floyd.

Exactly. It's incomprehensible really. Unless of course you receive some kind of royalty from Floyd fights. This would be a challenging fight for the so called pfp king. I don't even see how a boxing fan would or could want to see Khan get a Floyd shot over Lara.

Trout has the better jab against guys like Floyd or Lara. It's that stay busy jab, and has enough sting in it, where it makes you conscious of it. Regardless of whether it lands, it makes you think.
Floyd's jab isn't his bread winner. It's the right hand. That means, in theory, Floyd has to use up more energy to land his punches, since he has to contort his body and use his reflexes to land on a guy like Lara.
Also, Floyd's lack of a stay busy jab, is the reason why Lara's in and out style would be better against Floyd. Not only does he not have to worry about the a JMWs power, but he can let his hands go more.

That's why I also brought up their reach.
Lara being a southpaw, the right hand would be what Floyd wants to use anyhow.
IMO Floyd beats Lara easily. Lara is a one trick pony. He fights well off the back foot but doesn't have an inside game. His power is average. There isn't one thing he does better than Floyd.
He isn't going to win a boxing match and Floyd will eat him alive on the inside.

I think Floyd would use his jab better against Lara. It would help set up his right hand which, as you stated, would be his predominant weapon. I would imagine Floyd vs Lara would be similar to Floyd /Judah in some ways. Floyd would have to get inside and hit the body like he did in the Judah fight. As we all know, Lara's inside game is lacking. I think the subtle ways Floyd uses his jab goes unnoticed because of how effective the right hand is.
Also, Floyd throws a better jab to the body. That punch plays a key factor in many of his fights

Easiest fight that can be made. There's no Arum to deal with. Both are GBP fighters and managed by Haymon. I don't see any roadblock in this fight.
Definitely a straightforward fight to make. Can't really see what the problem would be with it. Lara's a legitimate threat but hardly some monster Floyd can't be expected to face.
