Mayweather Pacquaio can happen but no Arum and 50/50 split

65/35 with the higher purse to the winner is probably the best deal that can be made for this fight.Comment

Good point.
Why would Floyd agree to something as absolutely ludicrous as this? Floyd's the one in the driver's seat here while Manny's one fight removed from wearing the canvas as a hat. Additionally, he hasn't looked good in quite some time, Mayweather's the biggest draw in the sport whose last PPV bout did 2.2 million buys. Arum's in zero position to offer a contract like this. 70/30 would be generous, Manny's broke and he needs the cash. Arum can't seriously think a fading Pacquiao is going to be worth much more to him. If he were a kind slave master he'd let Pacquiao fight Mayweather to ease some of his debts. No, he won't do that because he's a businessman not a social worker. His job is to turn a profit and if it happens to be at Manny's expense then so be it.
You know what complicate things, promoters......Comment

people who are saying 65-35 split in favor of floyd is fair are idiots...de****able fanboys.
that's almost the same deal pac got against dela hoya when his ppv numbers were just in 300 thousand...ish.Comment

Arum is the convenient excuse. They want the guy who's been dad to all of them at one point out of the picture. That will not happen. Arum had a suggestion that they all get together and make the fight, no one excluded out. Why does this grown up approach not work for GB and Floyd's side? It's not as if Floyd will have the chance to earn $100 M with anyone else? And as if Floyd would enhance his legacy by continuously refusing to fight Pac for whatever reason he has.Comment

The fact is the fight is not going to happen and it was never going to happen. Its time to move on from theoretical matchups and imaginary purse splits because the fight is never going to take place. Reasons at this point are irrelevant, and seeing Pacquiao face down a couple fights ago didn't make it any more likely.Comment

Wost fans in the sports' history, these Floyd fanboys. The guy they're protecting doesn't even deserve it. He pulled a fake retirement to duck dangerous fights, sneaked in and out in the ring by fighting an average of one fight a year, meaning took less risk than the average boxer, and they now want to reward the boring boxer with medals and staggering amounts of money. It's unbelievable! It's mind-boggling!
Worst fanbase in the history of the sport. There's no one group more de****able.
Pacman needs to just ignore the chicken duck. He doesn't deserve the attention. Let him be called a duck till he retires.Comment
