What you don't seem to understand is that Manny isn't in a position to dictate anything. No matter how big a pill it is tto swallow. Pac is the B-side here and is gonna be treated as such.I still don't see what the big deal is about Arum not being able to head the promotion. If seeing the fight is what you want most. And if Pac is the one who truly wants the fight. He's gotta do what he gotta do. And honestly, he's not being asked to do much. All Schaefer is saying is that they don't wanna co-promote the event with Arum. Arum will be paid. His company will receive adeuate advertising. All he's gotta do is. Kick back, throw his feet up, and collect his money. And to be real, he'll make more money if he's not involved. Bcause not only would he get the agreed upon percenage of Pac's money. He'll also get a buy-out fee from GBP for Pac's services.

So basically, since Arum can't be front-n-center in the promotion, the fight can't be made. Sounds like Arum's ego is in the way, which everyone not kissing Pac's ass have been saying for years.

Because they think that by admitting that it's Arum who doesn't want the fight it automatically means Pacquiao doesn't want the fight.

Sad thing is I and many others here actually believe that Pacquiao wants the fight, but know it's Arum who doesn't.

I refer you to this interview with Ellerbe written almost two years ago. In it he states perfectly why it is ARUM who doesn't want the fight. That Arum doesn't want Pacquiao looking at the books and seeing how much more money Mayweather makes than him because then Pacquiao will realize how much uncle Bob has been screwing him over the years.

I don't know very many people that wouldn't love being paid to do nothing. And basically, that's what Arum is being asked to do. And to be real, with all the hard feelings involved. I don't see any peaceable way to co-promote this fight. So its probably better for the promotion that one side or the other head the event. And it goes both ways. Justt as easily as Arum could take a fee to move outta the way. Floyd could easily go to Arum and offer him the same deal he has with GBP. And that is he's gonna subcontract TR to do this one fight for a flat fee. But unfortunately for Pac, his status ha fallen to the point where he's clearly the B-side here. So he's gonna have to do the bending. But even at tthat, I don't see why Arum has to be apart of this as long as he's not losing any money.

I ain't condradicting ****. My stance is simple. Why does Arum feel such an urge to be front-n-center. If somebody wanted to pay me a lotta money to do nothing. I'd be tickled to death.

Again GB tried to negotiate the fight by offering 3 million dollars. Again a record breaking number for any fighter in that weight class. Again Bob Arum didn't even want to negotiate the fight. He wanted the fight under his banner and offer BOTH fighters a lot less money. Again why would Mares agree to a mega fight for less money when HIS promoter was offering him a % of 3 million?

You're claiming the negotiations didn't work. I tell you they didn't work because Bob Arum didn't make them work. Sad thing is this is nothing new. Bob Arum has always been this way, even before GBP even existed. You must not be old enough to remember the feud between him and Don King.

The closest Golden Boy and Top Rank came together I believe is with the negotiations for a Tim Bradley vs. Robert Guerrero fight. Pretty much everything was set and both sides wanted it, everything was agreed upon pretty much. But Bradley decided in the end to pull out of the fight.

But they're NOT gonna work together. What's so complicated about that. And the fact is, Floyd hasn't said a word. Its Pac's people claiming they want the fight so badly. So its Arumn's job to make that happen. In this particular situation. Part of making it happen includes Arum not being a part of the promotion. And he's being asked to do this with no risks. He's not losing any money. Pac is not being asked to sign a multi-fight deal. So end the end, what difference does it make who heads the promotion as long as it get done.
