I think the sales would have more to do with who Pac was fighting, not where he was fighting. I could be wrong but unless you are a fan that follows the sport closely, I'm not so sure that people would even know who Rios was. His biggest win was against Mike Alvarado. Again I may be wrong on this one and maybe I'm not giving Rios enough credit but picture Rios headlining a PPV card. How well would It have sold.

I only bought the ppv to see the Mexican Russian destroy Billy Dib so I think he deserves more credit and to be recognized as the A side cash cow

          Not bad

for 2 guys coming off losses, but adding to the fact that this fight was not in the U.S. hurt it as well.

Still great money to fight a guy who had zero chance of winning but it seems even the casuals knew this and thats why the numbers are so low

What wasn't mentioned was that in ASIA, they can have a house full of watchers, say about 20-30 from one TV so that only counted as 1 subscription. I've heard that in the regions affected by the typhoon for example, they projected the fight on a big screen, perhaps 100s or 1000s watching, again under 1 subscription.

My brother alone invited probably 30-40 people in the house with two large screen TVs...one in the basement and one in the living room. Again, 1 subscription.

I think that the Chinese are pretty much like that too...

And so this isn't an exact science as to why many people didn't watch the fight, on the contrary LOTS OF PEOPLE WATCHED IT. So for half a million, perhaps there's actually 5-10 million watchers at least! hahaha

                How is 500k a flop?

The dude just got KTFO, his brand name went considerably down, and he was fighting Rios. A guy that wouldn't sell 20k in PPVs by himself.

You guys overreact way too much.

thats pretty sad. The fight reminded me of mayweather fights tbh, BUT Manny was WAY busier than May

That's actually positive numbers for people tuning in to see Manny work the heavy bag.

It was free in China, not PPV.

The extra money that came from China was from the site fee paid by the casinos.

It matters a lot for marketing purposes. The buzz isn't as big if it isn't in the US and media coverage suffers.
