  • It's so weird... we are all getting used to GGG fighting these overmatched fighters while HBO has a nice crop of MW's avaliable.

usually fights don't happen because of the goldenboy-tr crap but HBO has got the best middleweights lol. they should force them murray-barker-sturm-geale-martinez to fight.... it's almost like any of those guys are considered dream fights for GGG because nobody wants to fight him. does he not bring enough $$$ yet? is the risk not worth the reward? It's looking as such.

And you know this how? How many fighters have you polled?

Golovkin is a fighter and I bet he would love a one champion system right about now.

If fighters didn't they wouldn't conform to the current system, indeed if it wasn't for fighters conferring legitimacy on the IBF and WBO we'd still have only two champions.

It might be in Golovkin's self-interest at present to have a one champion system but what about everyone else? Multi-champions are here to stay, everyone just needs to accept it and move on.

        • This sham has got to stop. Either move up or keep fighting inferior comp. He's choosing the latter. He's going on 32. His window is almost closed. His fans can watch this next farce because I won't.

Black guys are predisposed to root for every black boxer from Africa now, lmao. It's always the alts who get banned who come back with these brainless zingers. Either that or they have an alt that they don't care that gets banned just as long as they have their regular account. #Brave

Yeah it could play a part too. Also the fact that there wasn't much footage of Kovalev to study until fairly recently. I definitely think he'll have more problems getting top guys in the ring with him now that he's destroying guys on HBO.

It's not just Martinez and Quillin, he could realistically fight Barker/Sturm/Murray in the near future. It would be a shame to leave middleweight without fighting one of the other title holders.

If there was one champ Martinez would likely vacate and fight Canelo/Cotto anyway. Fighters do not want a one champion system so complaining about the current system is fairly pointless, none of the alternatives can feasible work the way fans would want them to.
I think you underestimate the importance of holding a world title. Only a handful of fighters are famous enough to make big money without being advertised as "world champion".

One alternative is to have networks putting pressure on fighters, which is definitely feasible.

Please don't take my post wrong ....i'm with you 100% and i'm a huge fan because i know what he's got but i think the ball is being dropped in a big way. His next fight should be with a World Class fighter not another fish in Monte Carlo of all places. GGG is losing momentum and he's not getting any younger.
Last - public perception is short lived today and the excuses can last only so long as for the belief that "fighters are ducking him". His team needs to show some firepower, juice or clout and make something happen! Make a damn fight already. No disrespect to Adama but come on.
