It's no secret Ward wants a Chavez Jr payday on PPV, and that's probably why he's not moving up yet.
The only fight you could even compare of Ward and Floyd with definite sense is Floyd/Marquez to Ward/Rodriquez.

And I'll tell you right now, Ward/Rodriquez was a far better fight in regard of standing, period.

My point stands though. You simply can't defend Floyd and try to criticize Ward when Ward hasn't even cherry picked yet.

Ward will probably never be on PPV (unless its Latin Fury style)...and certainly not against Adonis or Kovalev

Marvin Hagler never pursued anyone to any weight and still is considered one of the greatest boxers ever and a top 5 MW of all time. He fought the greats of lower weights coming up to fight him, nobody cared. Ward can fight Martinez, Golovkin, coming up, Chavez Jr, Groves, Froch II and any one at 175 who wants to fight could just come down for a beating.

Ward is an ATG in the making, if Pascal-Bute winner can offer him a very good deal to fight at 175, then I, as his unofficial adviser, would advise him to go up to 175 and beat up on the winner of that fight. Stevenson-Kovalev needs to happen and then we at E-Team Ward will consider them but first we want to get the bigger checks out of the way, then we'd take on the boogeymen that bring less $. We want that money just like every other fighter. Ward has a family and them California taxes are the most brutal in the U.S. so we gotta take the highest pay days possible to "take-home" as much possible.

I'm gonna agree and disagree with both here.

          1. I do not agree with Ward's resume being weak, Bushbaby I agree with you that Ward's resume is very solid. Even this win that is being bashed as weak is actually a very good win.

          2. Floyd Mayweather has fought the best fighters out there that he realistically could have fought, in other words barring Top Rank fighters, whom he just can't deal with that promoter because of their bitter breakup.

Lot of flack for a guy who was coming off an injury and still dominated an undefeated top 10 SMW, coming off of KO'ing the lineal LHW champ. With all the tough fights he took back to back, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

What Ward should do is take the fights that will make him the most money. This is a business after all.

But whatever he decides I hope he doesn't move up until he derails the GGG hype train.

Now I'm wondering if he's ever going to leave 168.
he has always said he intends to move up to 175. i saw an interview with him quite recently where he said he wanted to move up instead of fighting rdriguez but virgil hunter talked him out of it saying he will grow into the division naturally and just needs to be patient.

i agree with hunter btw, ward is already the best super middleweigt in history so why not keep building on that and move up when the time is right? there are still fights for him out there, i expect him to fight anthony dirrell after he beats bika which is a good fight.

not saying he should stay at 168 forever, 2-4 more fights and he should move up imo. i think he will have grown into the division by then.

Andre Ward needs to move to 175 where the good fights are.

He's done nothing of note in years and now he's looking to fight Chavez Jr.

                  Wasting his career away.

Rodriguez was the second best North American SMW, undefeated and in his prime. It's as good as Guerrero or Ortiz who only had 3 fights at 147 combined, both their claims to fame at the weight was beating Bertolol.

Ward actually took the fight with his opponent 2lb overweight, yet you have Fraud stealing 2lbs off a blown up lightweight Marquez.
