Winner of Stevenson-Kovalev will have more backing from me to call out Ward. Kovalev has racked up a very nice resume so far, Campillo, Cleverly and Sillakh. With the addition of Stevenson, he could really call out any one he wants and he will be Ring/WBO/WBC 175 champ, you guys have to think about things like these before rushing a fight. There's also IBF champ Bernard Hopkins roaming around who wants Kovalev.

Even then, Ward vs winner of Bute-Pascal interests me a lot more. Much bigger fight, more popular, more of an event too. And if Ward beats one of these guys, Ward vs Kovalev-Stevenson at LHW for all of those titles would be much bigger. However, I would not be angry if Ward decides to fight Chavez first for a payday and then winner of Froch-Groves II.

          Ward won't move up.

In his mind he proved everything by beating over the hill kessler and limited carl froch.

Ward now thinks he should be a ppv star and deserves easy paydays, and HBO pander to his ego which only makes things worse.

This is why ward is trying to drag that bum Chavez Jr into a fight, so he can get paid.

You think ward is going to fight Kovalev you must be crazy. Frochand kessl er landed shots on ward here and there, but those guys are just heavy handed sluggers, not devastating one punch ko artists like Kovalev. Ward isn't slick enough to last 12 without getting hit ,

he is not attempting to lure anyone from 160, the implication has always been that 160 pounders would move UP to fight him as a natural progression.

hence the allure of the fight. If ANDRE WARD would be the underdog, why not make the fight??

                    This sums up the reality.

Because Ward doesn't want it? He's not even in their weight class right now. The risk-reward doesn't make it viable.

Me either, and neither would beat him so it doesn't matter.
