His color??? So being black nets advantages. Thats news to me as an African American. Why do you have to inject race?? Disgusting. Gold medalist, winner of the super six, undefeated as a pro and LONG before that. None of that matters??? You need to clarify because that comes off as a racist statement. way to ruin a spirited discussion. Feel free to leave now.

Ward isnt even that kind of name lol. Talent, yes... But Kovalev is gonna have to Kk a good deal more dudes in addition to Ward if he wants that.

If anyone is going to beat Ward it looks like only Adonis and Kovalev are the guys to do it... Outside of those guys I dont see any challengers... And even then I dont see more than a punchers chance AND they arent even in the same weight class. Shows how good Ward is
so you agree with me, you agree that moving up in weight is the likely move for Ward?? Against that backdrop, Adonis already believes he is Elite when he really isn't. Looked REAL average yesterday against a poop butt opponent. . He is seeking a payday. He will want to fight at home. That disposition will not play well with a Ward camp that is famous for being cheap, and unreasonable at the table. They had trouble signing Edwin to a contract. A b fighter. Kovalev and Kathy Duva meanwhile would cut the deal, and surrender all advantages in the blink of an eye. The business of boxing, its composition, its rules, dictate that the fight that is easier to make, gets made 90% of the time. Especially a fight drenched in intrigue like Ward/kovalev

Wrong brother. Andre is the one who had the injury and consulted doctor shaw-high.

I agree with you--Andre needs to move up to LHW and take these fools apart. He is a friend of Hopkins, maybe he's staying out of the Executioner's territory until he retires. Kovalev will probably take out Stevenson before Ward gets to him.

Kovalev and Ward will cross paths. It's inevitable.

He was getting his ears boxed off before the knockout. He was moved by punches tonight. He carries his hands low, he displays NO head movement, he is flat footed, and he does not mind getting hit. Thats a wet dream to Andre Wards camp. Those shortcoming plays in to SOG's hands. Fistic flaws that on paper will amplify Andre's strengths. Andre watched the fight tonight, and told himself, "I can beat him". Andre will also realize that a win over Kovalev will snatch way more hood credit then a win over Adonis. At this point, Kovalev is the better fighter, that much was clear tonight. You have to be blind as CJ Ross not see that. Kovalev is the MUCH better option of the two. In terms of credibility. Kovalev is also the cheaper fighter, he will sign to fight Andre ward for dumbo sized peanuts. He is STARVING to dignify all of the hype. If he loses, so what? He STILL will be among the hottest names in the sport, Andre is the de facto #1 fighter on the planet. Losing to him is quite alright. Beating him will make Kovalev an 8 figure type of prize fighter. He could back to europe and make crazy euros until rapture. Kathy Duva, who I have interviewed on numerous occasions, is the smartest woman in the sport. She realizes that striking while the iron is hot is key to building a superstar. She will take the fight for $300,000 with the promise of at least one more fight on HBO. The allure, of a man that could actually lay andre out will sell the fight. Its Andre's chance to become a mainstream superstar. At some point, he will have to carry the sport, and a win against the most dangerous man in the world will help his cause. It could actually be staged in Vegas. A step that Andre Ward has been dying to take. PPV? Most likely not, but it will net SOG a title in a second weight class, it will be by far the most credible win in ANY weight class as of this moment, and it will prove to be the defining win of his career. The fight works for both sides, and since Adonis is insisting on DUCKING Kovalev, the fight makes PERFECT sense, and it can be made right now. Both fighters would take the fight for selfish reasons, and us, the fight freaks, will benefit. What a fight!!! Speed vs Power. That to me, has way more intrigue then the fight with Superman that isn't going to happen for at least a year. And while were on the subject, I take Kovalev inside of 3 rounds over Adonis, If Tony could move Adonis, and knock him down, Kovalev will snuff him like a match light
kovalev beating andre ward, does not make him a 8 figure prize fighter? you do realize there are only 2 guys who make 8 figure everytime they fight. mayweather and pacquiao. kovalev hasn't even made 1 million dollars for a fight yet and your talking about 10 million

yes because kovalev or Stevenson would be calling for a fight with the 2nd best fighter in the world in ward. ward would be calling for a fight with a guy he beat already in froch. a guy who has no chance in chavez jr. and a guy who hasn't even fought another champion in his own weight class in golovkin.

Wrong, your talking dollars, I am talking euros. If he knocks Ward out, he is a massive millionaire, and it wont be long before he jumps to heavyweight. 8 figure PAYDAYS are in his Future at this rate

on a side note Andre Ward has a chance to reach ATG status. He is already a hall of famer but could you imagine if he fights and beats GGG at 168 then moves up to 175 and beats Kovalev and Stevenson?
