He's already learned his lesson about taking "pride fights" instead of money fights when he fought Trout. He's not doing this again. He's fighting Canelo. It's stylistically a better match up for him and much more money.

His latest offer is $15 million from HBO. So "pride fight" plus "money" is unbeatable. Don't you think so?

I'm curious about Alvarez. Do you have any idea who his next fight would be if Cotto is not in the picture?

Good, he deserves to take time and weigh his options. This is the man who has NEVER EVER turned down a fight and FOUGHT EVERYBODY they put in front of him without ANY excuses. If there's a fighter in the game right now that we can all respect, it's Cotto. The guy is the definition of a fighter. We owe it to him to at least get himself the best fight possible at this stage in his career, specially when either of the choices is a fan favorite/tough fight.

If that $15 million offer for Martinez is real then he needs to take that fight. Cotto will lose to either Canelo or Martinez so he might as well cash out. That Martinez offer won't be there once he loses to ginger (assuming that offer is real in the first place which I have my doubts)
As far as the Rubio lawsuit, I assume Rubio would take some step aside money and possibly a guarantee of the winner of Cotto/Martinez next fall.

Canelo will always be there for Cotto. Canelo's options are Lara, Trout rematch, Molina, Kirkland, Angulo... who else? None with Cotto's stature. Canelo needs Cotto ASAP before getting punked by one or two of these guys.
